Expert Q&A

I have three teens, am divorced from a controlling husband, remarried and have just realized I have no friends left. At 47 how do I make friends? I've taken watercolor classes, but I can't afford a gym. How do I meet people with the same interests?

What a wonderful, sincere question! In my book Positive Energy (Harmony, 2004) there is chapter on how to attract positive people. I go though a few basic techniques of how to sense positive energy in people and attract the same back to you. Overall, the more you can be loving to yourself and others, the better friends you can make.
Be sure to see the goodness and beauty in people instead of being critical of them. It's so easy to see the worst in others. If you see the best they will feel appreciated and will gravitate to you. It is never too late to make good friends.
