First things first ~ I HAVE A PICTURE!!!!! Yahoooooo!!!!!!

Friday, December 6, 2002

That was the grand topic of stimulating conversation in my house last night while watching Survivor. Jeremy said absolutely, he would have choked them ALL down and when asked for my response, I just smiled and said hmmmm. NO WAY IN @#$$ would I have eaten that cockroach for him. God heavens, they only have 11 more days to go!!! LOL!!

I am still pulling for Brian ~ he is kind of a male chauvinist, but he certainly knows how to play the game. GO BRIAN!!!

Now that the important things are out of the way ~ let's get to the girls.

Mackenna is an adorable manipulative little imp, quite simply I adore her. She smells so sweet and snuggles right in to you, how could anyone resist?? The world moves on her schedule and heaven help anyone who tries to alter that. If you do not feed her by 5:45, she shakes her high-chair and squeals, immediately after dinner she wants her bath and will try to climb the stairs to get to the tub if you don't move fast enough! At 7:00 she wants her bottle and will squawk until she gets it, then almost every night she falls asleep in either my or Germ's arms while drinking it. After cuddling her sleepy little body for a little while, we take her to bed about 7:30 and she sleeps through the night until 6:15 a.m., when Lexi gets up and lets the dogs out. What an Angel!!! As I previously posted, she started walking while we were on vacation in October and has now progressed to running (non-stop)!! Her sisters love her, but won't leave her alone long enough to let her explore or try new things. I'm sure if she could talk, she'd have a few choice words to say them about carting her off from her newest adventure. I cannot believe that on New Year's Eve she will be a year old. It makes me sad to think that the time has gone by so quick ~ I want to back time up and keep her little for just a while longer. Waah!!!

Kimmi is getting so tall. She has been going through a growth spurt for awhile and is losing that chubby little toddler look and taking on more features of a little girl. She has the biggest brown eyes (she calls them chlocklit) and the most adorable little giggle! She used to tell me that her cheeks were "shubby" and I loved to "eat" them, unfortunately, they are disappearing way to fast for my liking. She will be four on the 20th of January and I swear that she has planned it out to the very last detail and discussed it with her friends at least once a day ~ it's really neat to listen to the plans that she makes. I love their imagination at this age!! Our daycare provider recently went to Spain for three weeks and Kimmi has stated that she will be traveling with her to Italy next year. She (Kimmi) has informed me (no less than 10 times) that I have to get her a passport. As if she really expects that I will let her travel to Europe without me! HAHA!! Right now, she is very much into being the middle sister. From the time that we brought Mackenna home, we have told her how lucky she was, that she was the only one in the family who gets to have both a big sister and a little sister. I'm sure one day we will get to hear about all the injustices of being the middle child, but for today she loves it. She is so protective of Mackenna and very much the big sister to her, it's really cute to see how nurturing she is. She is still taking her ballet class and loves it!! We've moved past the singing and now have to endure her countdown every week of how many more days left until she goes back again to Ms. Ashley (her teacher)!! We bought tickets to take both Kimmi and Lexi to the Nutcracker (tomorrow) and I'm sure that she will want to be a ballerina when she grows up after she sees the performance. I suppose that there are much worse things to be when you grow up. LOL!!

Lexi is taking dance lessons as well and her class is a combination of both ballet and tap. She is not real thrilled about it, but has to take this class in order to take a jazz or funk class next year, so she is muddling through. She is in second grade, loves school and (completely unlike her mother), her favorite subject is Math (I think she's nuts)!!! She likes to read and use the computer and since we recently changed to a cable Internet connection at home, she has her own e-mail address (crazy!!). Her best friend has the same cable Internet provider and her own e-mail address, so they e-mail each other daily. She also sends daily e-mails to my mom (she lives in Colorado) my dad, (he lives in San Diego) Germ's Mom (she lives in Oregon) and my Aunt and Uncle (they live in Seattle), with all this practice, I have to say, that she types really well for a 7 year old!!

As you can tell, I didn't get this posted on Friday!! GRIN!!

I am the Co-Chairperson for the Silent Auction at Lexi's school and purchased a get away package at the Auction last Spring. Unfortunately it had to be used by December 31st, so Germ and I had a night away from the girls this weekend. It was really nice to get away, but honestly all I could think about were the things that were not getting accomplished at home ~ UGH!!!

The package was wonderful, we had gift certificates for dinner and dessert, the hotel stay and breakfast. We stayed at the Holiday Inn in Estes Park, Colorado which is just across the main road from the Stanley Hotel (the Hotel from the movie Psycho). It's a nice 1 ½ hour drive from our house, so we actually got to speak to each other without being interrupted. Unfortunately, it was so quiet, I fell asleep on the way up there and Germ made fun of me for the rest of the night. It really was relaxing and I enjoyed spending time with just my honey. It was the first time that we have left Mackenna overnight, but she didn't seem to mind at all. All of the girls adore my mom and she makes it so easy on us by coming over here and staying so that the girls can sleep in their own beds (but they don't) and so that they can take care of the dogs. What more could you ask for!!

On a completely different subject, in taking lessons from Tricia (BT, PT, CT) and Lara (MT) I am trying not to fall into the whole crazy Christmas trap this year and so far, I've been doing pretty good. I'm 90% done with shopping, I've printed out my Christmas labels and cheesy Christmas letter, got the girls photo cards back from the printer and am all set for mailing (shhhhh ~ I even have stamps!!!). Now I just have to find some time to put them all together and my Christmas cards are done. I am the room Mom for Lexi's class and I've ordered all my craft supplies and games for her Holiday Party and only need to make a few phone calls to ask for help and beg for goodies!! Once all of those feats have been accomplished, I'll move on to wrapping and shipping the gifts to Oregon for Germ's family and get those books sent off to Aimee. Whew ~ I scheduled vacation from work the week of Christmas and most of the New Year's week, so the girls and I are planning on making crafts, baking cookies and watching Christmassy movies together. It will be so nice to be able to enjoy them and not feel like I still have a thousand things to do. I can't wait!!!

I hope that all of your plans are coming together and you are able to enjoy your families at this time of year.

So tell me..................

What are your plans???

Do you bake some type of special cookies, etc., with your kids?

What tips do you have for a less stressful Holiday season?

Do you still send out cards / pictures / letters?

Let me know what you have to say, I really appreciate the time you take to post and like to hear what you think.

Till next time,

Stephanie
