Stephanie's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

April 18, 2003

When I was little my parents always made Easter into kind of a whole "hunt" theme. Immediately upon waking we would find a clue taped to our headboard or dresser and from there we would have to read the clues and search for our Easter Baskets. It made Easter morning last a little bit longer and it was always so much fun to have to find your goodies. It is something that both of my brothers and I still talk about to this day.

Last year when Lexi was in the first grade, I decided that she was old enough to start getting Easter clues. We hid all three of the girls baskets together and only had one set of clues, since Lexi is the only one who could read. Lexi would read the clues and then she and Kimmi would think together where it may be and then they would both run off and find the next clue. They had so much fun and they both said that it was their favorite part of Easter. Lexi even asked me if I would put the clues in her baby box so that she could keep them forever.

It makes me feel really good to pass my parents tradition down to the girls and so I wanted to share my Easter clues with you all. These are the clues from last year as I can't write this years clues until Midnight and two Dr. Peppers ~ LOL!!!

Here we are another year
You?re getting older, but have no fear

You have a basket, one for each
But this Easter you may need to reach

My clues you will have to follow
To find the chocolate bunnies hollow

Searching high and searching low
Here and there you must go

To start out on your crazy trip
You need go where water may drip

Once there you will find
Another clue to wrack your mind.
(Clue was hidden in the kitchen on the water faucet)

That was quick and you?re so cute
I wonder where you?ll find your loot

So far so good, you?re really smart
I bet that you just love art.
(Clue was hidden in their marker box)

Now that was fast, your getting quick
What do people eat when sick?

Do they like crackers or maybe soup
You?ll find me next where you poop.
(Clue was taped to the top of the toilet)

The Easter bunny can be funny
I?ll bet that you would like some money

But not today, it?s chocolate you?ll find
When you look behind the blind.
(Clue was hidden behind the blinds in the living room)

Okay, Okay, not just yet
You have some more clues to get

Have you looked here, have you looked there
Maybe check your underwear.
(Clue was in Kimmi's underwear drawer)

Does all of this seem fun to you?
Would you like your final clue?

Maybe I?m done and maybe not
I wonder if you?re getting hot?
(Clue was in the oven)

Have you been good, or have you been bad?
Maybe I should ask your dad

Go to his room and you shall see
The Easter Baskets left by me.
(Baskets were behind our bed on the floor)

I love you all three of you!! Happy Easter!!

Kind of corny, but definitely fun!! We hid the clues right before we went to bed and the girls have already asked this year if I think that the Easter Bunny will do it again. LOL!!

We have discussed the real meaning of Easter with the girls, but of course, they still like the chocolate part of it! LOL!! Kimmi wanted to know all bunnies pooped and delivered chocolate or just the Easter bunny!!

I wish you all a Happy and Healthy Easter Sunday.

From me and mine to you and yours ~ Stephanie
