-TV Time-
Well, one of my questions I left you with last time was about your favorite soaps. So I thought I would share mine. I am a huge fan of ABC. General Hospital is my favorite and then All my Children. I watch One Life to Live sometimes, just because it is on in between. But I try not to miss General Hospital. I even try to schedule my daughter’s naps around this time slot. Are there any others out there who love ABC soaps?
OK, so I watch too much TV. I am a reality show junkie. Right now I am into, Big Brother, Paradise Hotel, For Love or Money & Amazing Race. I think that is all that is on at this time.
So anyways, I have always been the type to have the TV on all day and night. So I am trying to turn it off now. I have noticed that my daughter is starting to watch too much of it. I always swore that my children would not be the type to sit around and watch TV or play video games all day. I miss seeing kids outside playing all day long like we use to. So for a while now I have limited the TV time. We have moved our computer desk (a new one, more on that later) into the family room from our bedroom. So I figured I would put in a CD since it was so quite without the TV on. So I put in The Little Mermaid soundtrack. Well, this totally confused Analisa. She was so mad that she couldn’t see Ariel. She thought that if we were at home and could hear her that we should be able to see her too. I think she is getting use to it now. But she gets mad if I close the doors on the desk because she at least once to see the flashing lights type of pictures that the monitor was showing. UGH! So was this even worth it? I think/hope that once she gets use to just hearing the music it won’t be so bad.
-Redecorating or Nesting?-
So, now for the computer desk- I can’t remember if I mentioned to you guys or not about my house situation. We live in a 2 bedroom town home. We bought it the month before our wedding. But we are really running out of room here. It is still a newer community. We were one of the first here. And that was almost 3 years ago. I think the builders are almost done selling now. We had it on the market for 6 months with no luck. And I just got tired and frustrated with it so we took it off for now. I also was so anxious not knowing where we would be once the baby arrives. I wanted to be able to get ready for her. So anyways, it is now off the market and will hopefully be back on early next year. So since we are here I wanted/needed to make some changes. For one the color of our bedroom was a blueish purple and it was all marked up. So I wanted to redo it. We painted (I should say Scott painted) it a creamish color. And I bought a new duvet cover and sheets. I love it now. We also, as I mentioned, bought a new computer armoire. Thanks to Tanya, for her suggestion! I need it to be an armoire if it was going to be out in the open. Otherwise, I would hate to look at it and I would get sick of hearing myself yell at Analisa to not touch! We need to make room in our bedroom for the baby. The bassinet, I am also going to move my glider in there since we had to put the desk in its place in the family room. I am started to feel better. I hate when there is so much to get done. I love having things done. My bad fault- wanting things done right away. So, I am happy to say that things are getting done around here.
I think I am going through my “nesting phase”. Because last Wednesday night I got the idea in my head that I could run out to Menard’s to buy some rocks for the front of the house. We do have landscapers, with it being a town house community, but they didn’t mulch this year and it really needed to be done. So this past spring I planted some wildflower seeds along the side of my garage. Well, it got way out of hand. The flowers were way too huge and started covering the sidewalk to our front door. Not to mention all of the bugs and spiders it brought. YUCK! So I had it with them. I wanted something much neater looking. So I thought getting a couple of bags of rocks would look much nicer. So as I mentioned before, when I want something done, I want it then! So I took Analisa to the store and bought 3 bags of rocks and 3 small pots of mums. I love mums in the fall time. So anyways, that is what I did that night. I pulled out all of those ugly flowers and laid down the rocks and planted a few mums. It looks so much nicer. But I started cramping up and realized I had over done it. So I rested the rest of the night and am fine now.
I will try to get pics taken of the new changes around here and get them posted on our website soon. www.joynersrus.com
-Good Buys-
I get paid on Friday for babysitting throughout the week. And of course the money is burning a whole in my pocket. That money is my “fun” money. I usually spend it on the fun stuff we need or on Analisa. So something fun that we also would need to get is what I was thinking about. So that is, Analisa’s birthday party dress and Abriella’s homecoming outfit.
So Saturday morning I was off. I first went to Steinmart. I love this store. They have a lot of the clothes that Marshall Field’s has but a lot cheaper. They were having great sales on their summer stuff (50% off). The signs said 30% off so I was happy with that but got very happy when the register took off 50%. Anyways, there I bought Analisa 2 outfits for next summer, Abriella 1 outfit, and I bought a Christmas gift for my friend’s daughter. I also bought Analisa a fall jacket. It is so cute, fake leather and feux (sp?) fur for $20. It is so nice buying clothes for her now, knowing that Abriella will also get use out of them.
Next stop was the mall. I went to Marshall Field’s and saw some of the stuff I just bought. They were marked down but not like the prices I just paid. I did however find a cute sundress for Ana to wear next summer for $5. And I bet you are wondering about the stuff I said I was looking to buy! Well, Field’s had a really cute party dress (Bonnie Jean brand) that was marked down to $26. She loved wearing it around the store. She thought it was a princess dress. So we now have her party dress bought!
Oh, I also went to JC Penny’s. They had some really good sales going on also. I bought Abriella 2 fleece rompers. They were buy one ($12.99) and get the 2nd for $0.88! And I found a cute fall outfit for Analisa that was also on sale.
We then took a break. We came home so Analisa could take her nap. And I went through my buys and watched The Mirror that has 2 Faces or is it The Mirror with 2 Faces. Anyways, it was on Lifetime and I just wanted to sit and relax for a bit.
Later, when she got up we headed to the pool to kill some time before we had to meet Scott at his parents’ house. I won’t really go into that!
Anyways, we left there sorta early and I really wanted to go to the Burlington Coat Factory/Baby Depot out that way. I don’t really like the one here by me. Although they are relocating, so maybe then they will be neater. I can’t stand shopping in a store that is a mess and unorganized. This is another favorite store of mine. They have some really cute baby outfits for about $10. So yes, I finally found an outfit for Abriella to come home in. It is so cute. White and pink with flowers and it even comes with a little bonnet. It is so cute and only $12! I also found 1 more outfit for Ella there and 3 fall outfits for Analisa. She really needs clothes for fall/winter. Good thing her birthday is coming up.
So, that was my day of shopping. I had a lot of fun. And felt good for the good deals I got!
-30 weeks!-
I can not believe I am already 30 weeks pregnant! This 2nd time around has gone by so much faster then the 1st time around. I have been feeling good. I am starting to get a bit uncomfortable. Saturday, for the first time ever, I experienced sciatica pain. I think that is what it is. It is on the left side of my butt. Other then that, I have no complaints. I am just getting excited and anxious for this little girl.
-Analisa-
I am so excited this past Friday, I signed Analisa up for parent -n- tot gymnastics. I saw that this one place here in Naperville (Naperville Gymnastics Club) has dance classes starting at age 2! And gymnastics at 18 months. I am really anxious for dance classes. But that will be starting in November when she will be 2. So for now, I signed her up for gymnastics for the first session. Since I baby-sit Thursday mornings which is when her class is, my sister is going to go into the room with her. My sister is very excited about it. She is a junior in college. She actually goes to the one that is in the same town that I live. She can only promise the first 3 weeks. She might have to student teach after that. So Scott will take over after that. I also couldn’t do that since Abriella will hopefully be here by the time the session is over (11/8 it ends). So that is our new and exciting news for Analisa.
OK, I was going to wait and post this on Monday so I can tell you about the Sunday happenings but I think this is long enough for now. We are just going to head over to my parents for the day and I think Ana might sleep over there tonight so Scott and I can go see a movie. I have my doctor’s appt tomorrow so I will be back that way anyhow and my mom watches the girls (Ana & K, who I watch) while I see the doc.
I hope you all have a great week. My internet was down most of this past week. So I know I have a lot of reading to do now.
-?s-
So, besides Alicia and Kathy K. does anyone else out there watch ABC soaps?
How about reality shows, what are your favs?
What are your favorite stores to shop in for your kids?
Any tips on helping the aches of sciatica (sp?)?
Take Care,
Raelyn
