Raelyn's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

August 12, 2003

It is so nice to see so many new faces here at iparenting. It has been fun reading all the new entries! I hope that we continue the closeness that I have always felt was around between the writers and the readers.

I wanted to write about the past week. But now I am having the trouble remembering what we did!

Last Sunday we spent the day at the Wisconsin State fair. We drove up Saturday night after Scott got off of work. We spent the night at my grandparents house in Lake Geneva, WI. My parents and grandparents were already there. But we didn’t get there till late so we went into town by ourselves and grabbed some dinner. I made sure to eat lightly because I really wanted ice cream from Annie’s Ice Cream parlor. It is our favorite place to get ice cream there. Anyways, back to the house we went. I was dreading the sleeping situation. Because of all places to sleep there, none on them are comfy for me. So sure enough I had a horrible night of sleep. Analisa and I slept on a futon. I woke up with horrible back pain but the shower helped me feel better.

So the next morning we all got up, got ready, ate breakfast and left for the fair. It was a nice but after about 5 hours of walking I was exhausted and ready to go. And I think that was just the right time because it had started to rain.

I watched K 3 days last week. So since I didn’t have her last Tuesday I figured it was a good day to take Analisa to the pool. So we met up with my friend Marta and her daughter, Taylor. Taylor is only 6 weeks younger then Ana. So it is nice to meet up with the 2 of them. Analisa has no fear of the water. She can go under and think it is fun. Either that or she likes it because she knows it scares me! So that is why it is nice to go when I do not have K, because I can not take my eye off of her. Analisa will walk on her hands in the water and say, “I’m swimming, I’m swimming!” It is very cute!
Wednesday, I never watch K. Those are our playgroup days. We have been in the same playgroup since Ana was 6 months old. The moms, I met in the group we all went to before that which was held at the hospital. So it has been a lot of fun watching the kids all grow together. They are all within a couple of months apart of each other. All but 2 of the moms in the group are pregnant now too! So that is neat. 2 of them are due in September, I am due in October and then we have 1 in December and 1 in January. So it will be neat to see the babies too, if we all decide to stay in the group that is.

I am realizing that my days with just Analisa are numbered. I want to try and do more things with her before the new baby comes.

OK, before this gets too boring lets jump to the weekend.
Saturday, Scott works during the days, so Analisa and I went to meet my Mom. We met her at the riverwalk. We took Analisa to the park there and walked around and had lunch. Analisa & I then left after lunch and went home so she could take her nap. Then us girls met Scott at Applebees for dinner. Scott rented a movie for me the night before. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days! I did watch it while Analisa napped but then found out that Scott wanted to watch it with me that night. So I watched it 2xs that day. I thought it was so cute and so funny.
Sunday, Analisa & I went to church alone. I had Scott stay home to paint our bedroom. Since we took our townhouse off the market I figured I could redo my room and make it more neutral. I was sick of the color we had anyhow. We had a blueish purple color and it I had enough of it. So it is now a cream color. I am hoping to go get the new bedding this weekend. I found a duvet cover that I want from Bed, Bath & Beyond. I also am hoping to get that corner desk I saw in the IKEA catalog. Then after that is all done. I can start getting the baby’s things together.
Anyways, after church Ana & I went to my parents and spent the day there.
WOW! Welcome to my exciting life!
Sorry this is a dull entry, but I want to get a new one up there.

Are you hooked on any daytime soaps? Which ones? How often do you watch them?

When you were pregnant with your 2nd child, did you also realize that his/her days as an “only” child were numbered? Did you do anything special because of it?

Please share & post!
