December 3, 2003
Gees, I have been remiss in writing. So sorry folks, life got me by the neck for a while.
** Alexander **
I am truly blessed with a great kid. DH and I talk about that every night. He is funny, loving, smart, sarcastic, witty, cute as can be, and all ours! His glasses have been a Godsend for us. He loves wearing them and gets very upset if he has to take them off or misplaces them. He left them at school earlier this week and it was a big deal to drive 45 minutes back through traffic to get them. But I can’t complain they are his link to life. Thanks goodness for glasses!
We went up to my parents house this past weekend to decorate their tree and house for Christmas. He had so much fun hanging ornaments on the tree, helping with the lights outside, and generally driving my mom nuts with all her glass collectibles. :O) Seeing him decorate their tree with the “ Alex ornaments” made me realize that I need to include him in our tree decorating this year. I was going to do it all by myself since all my ornaments are fragile and I don’t want to risk breaking them. But seeing his little face light up every time he studied a new ornament and watching him find the perfect spot on the tree changed my mind. How selfish I would have been… now we will have a great family memory. I am also going to pick up a small table top tree for him to decorate while we celebrate the Advent Calendar. Every night I am going to give him a his own special ornament to hang on his very own tree. Of course they will all be kid proof ornaments, but he will be able to put them anywhere on his tree. Maybe Santa can even leave a special present under Alex’s special tree.
** Cute Alexisms **
Alex: Mommy what is the Princesses name/ (while watching the Disney channel)
Mommy: That is Sleeping Beauty Alex
Alex: Her name should be Sleeping B-Cutie Mommy!
Alex: Mommy can two girls and a boy sleep together?
Mommy: Where did you hear that?
Alex: Daddy!
*I gave DH a stern talking to about that one!!! Grrrr… LOL! It was so hard to keep a straight face though.
** The Holidays **
Well the Holidays are upon us. I am sooo happy to say that we are 95%b done with our Xmas shopping. First time ever, we haven’t been rushing around buying gifts. Now I just have to wrap them, label them, and stash them for family and friends. LOL! We are going to go out this weekend and get our tree. Yeah! I love having a tree in the house with all our special decorations. I am also going to put away all our fall décor this week and pull out all the stops on the Christmas Décor. I love having a festive house. Plus we have friends over non-stop during the holidays. This is truly my favorite time of year.
Well this is all for this entry, back to the daily grind. Can you believe it is DECEMBER? Where did this year go?
