September 23, 2003
Okay call me silly, but I honestly wonder if anyone really reads my diary. Is it just posted out in Cyber Space, taking up room covered in cyber dust? Does Cyber Dust sparkle like glitter? I hope so because I think I’m covered in it. LOL! Naw, I know SOMEBODY out there had to be reading my little entries. It is kind of comforting to know that, but odd at the same time. I use to read the diary entries religiously before I became a writer here. I would follow stories for weeks and would get upset when someone stopped writing. Not upset, upset, but just felt like I was in limbo. These dairies are like mini novels to enjoy. It always fascinates me what people do with their lives and how they use the time we are all allotted daily. Personally I waste SOOOO much time it should be a crime. But that is another topic. I have decided to invest more time in the mom’s today boards. I always am complaining to myself that I don't have many friends who are moms, well HELLO Nicole, I have a bunch of ladies here who I can converse with. Who knows, maybe a great friendship can spring out of it. I need to follow my own advice.
** Alex and the Evil Pumpkin**
My son peed in his pumpkin last night. I know, it sounds funny, and DH and I did laugh our buns off later at night, but at the time it was so frustrating trying to understand his logic. He literally pulled down his pants, and peed into his plastic Jack-o-lantern. What is that all about?? When I asked why, him he just said he wanted too. I made him clean it out. Gees. I think it all stems from the new Rolie Polie Olie Halloween movie with Spookey Ookey. Alex always says he is going to pee and poop on Spookey Ookey. I think that it is his version of self-defense. LOL! Well his pumpkin bucket does kind of look like Spookey Ookey, obviously he thought he had him cornered and he could get away with the pee job. The funny part though was that he came running out of his room all happy and excited that he peed on the pumpkin, it was kind of sad to see his smile turn into a frown. But darn it, I'll be darned if I let him pee on anther pumpkin, can you imagine what he will do to the real ones? LOL!
**That familiar desire**
I was looking through Alex's baby pictures because I am finally getting around to making an album and I totally started wanting another baby. Now, I have wanted another baby for MONTHS, if not years, but DH is not to keen on the idea. He really only wants one, but I am an only child and I really do not like it. I’m hoping that we can come to some agreement on this. Because I do not want much more time to elapse between Alex and another possible baby. Anyone have any thoughts on that? What age gaps have worked well for everyone else?
** The first official day of Autumn**
It is finally here, AUTUMN! Or what you can call Autumn here in San Diego. I am so excited to go home tonight and put up our decorations. I have had a couple bags of stuff hidden away for a month or so and I all ready got down the decorations that we are re-using. Alex is so excited to be putting up some bat lights and garland we bought. I found some beautiful ceramic pumpkins, and can't wait to lay out our new tablecloth and witch candles.
Stews and comfort foods have been pulling at me in the kitchen. I think I am going to make some Crock-pot white bean soup tomorrow. Last night I did roasted squash and zucchini and cous cous. YUM! I am even going to try my hand at bread making, the old fashion way, no bread machines for me.
** Catalogs galore**
I have some how gotten on a catalog list for the PERFECT catalogs for me! Every day in my mailbox there is something wonderful for me to flip through at night. Catalogs for French Country decorating, French kitchen decor, Cooking supplies, and furniture. I LOVE getting my mail now. LOL! My new favorite catalog is Wisteria. It is all most like a journal for the family who owns this company, I love how personal it is. All the furniture and decor is from around the world and mostly found on the travels this family takes. Love it! I guess the catalog companies are gearing up for the holidays. Speaking of which I need to start shopping!
** Scrap booking like mad**
Okay I succumbed to the scrap booking craze and I love it. LOL! I found a Scrap booking store in my area and love going there because they have a play area for the kiddies and the staff is super nice. Alex was such a good boy there his first time. One little boy wanted to act like he was shooting guns, and Alex told him No guns hurt people and are not to be played with! I was so happy to over hear him saying that. Later he also told the little boy he wouldn't play with him if he kept crashing the cars because car crashes hurt people too! My little boy gets it! All the talks and serious discussions we have with him over no guns and no car crashes have worked. He even cleaned up all the toys he played with and thanked the girls at the counter for letting him borrow the toys, they were so impressed they gave me 10% off and Alex a sticker set of trucks and construction machines. He had the BIGGEST smile on his face. I did too, I was SOOOOO proud of him.
I am currently working in his first three years albums, then plan on making our wedding album, and then will do a yearly album. Whenever we take picture now, both DH and I think about how the shot will look in an album layout. LOL! We are so geeky sometimes.
** Talk to me**
Anyways, write to me ladies! Tell me your favorite Autumn memories, your potty training tips and techniques, favorite comfort meals and dishes, any advise on motivating a lazy bones like me, or just drop in and say hi! Oh, how often do you follow dairy writers post? I have been wondering about that.
Hope everyone has a fabulous week and weekend, and enjoy your family and friends. They are gone way to soon.
