Nicole's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

December 11, 2002

Well folks I would say we are in for a long and adventurous ride! I have never experienced morning sickness before. Now before I go on I would love to know who named this horrible sickness “Morning Sickness”. Just taking a wild guess I would say a man. Someone who had never experienced these feelings! Never became attached to their toilet! Never stashed Saltines in all of their pockets or purposely put their hair in a ponytail to avoid holding it back! This is not “morning” sickness this is all day, all night, every second of the day sickness! Just give me 5 minutes with this person, I would be so happy!

As you can probably tell, all of the things that I wrote in my last entry are null and void. Energized and happy? I don’t even think it was me who wrote that! I am tired, grouchy, sick and worn out! Ok, ok I admit…still happy though! I have decided that since this is the last time that I get to do this I had better enjoy every second. SO even though I am complaining, I am enjoying too!

We sold our house. This is so good because now I can let it get cluttered and messy again! Yeah! But bad too because they take possession on January 10th! Nothing like packing at Christmas Time! Oh well! Free living here I come!

We have decided against getting Maxwell a puppy for Christmas. First of all because we can’t figure out how to get it here without it freezing on the airplane, and second because I don’t want two babies at once! I think I should work on potty training Max before a puppy…what do you think? :)

How is that every child thinks that when one of the parents is away they somehow have dibs on their side of the bed? Maxwell absolutely refuses to sleep in his bed when Mike is away. Honestly, sometimes I enjoy having him with me, but last night was not one of those times. We lied in bed together watching Fear Factor last night (he LOVES that show) and then finally got to sleep at 10:00. I know that is too late for a two year old, but you tell him. So I finally nod off at about 11:00 but I am abruptly awoken 42 minutes later by a swift kick to my face! Maxwell had somehow turned his body around so that his head was where is feet should be and proceeded to kick the @!%&$ out of his Mom! That’s it! We are back to separate rooms tonight!

Part of my job is to coordinate all of the company functions. This Saturday we had the Children’s Christmas Party at Ton of Fun (sort of like Chucky Cheese for all of the American’s out there!). I had to purchase Christmas gifts for over 150 kids ages 0-12. It was crazy. Santa made is appearance and handed out gifts. Maxwell wanted nothing to do with him so he got his gift without sitting on the strange mans lap. (A perk of having your mom plan the event I guess!) When we got home that night I asked him if he saw Santa. He said, “Yes. I don’t like him.” I asked him why and he said he didn’t know. I proceeded to tell him that he is the one that brings all of the presents on Christmas Morning. He told me that he could still bring him presents but he wasn’t allowed to talk to him! He makes me laugh so hard sometimes!

I am so lonely without Mike home! He has been gone since last Tuesday and won’t return until Saturday night. He is home for three days and then back on Christmas Eve! When I said “I do” I must have misunderstood the agreement! I thought when you got married it meant that you got to spend MORE time together! I think we need to renegotiate the contract!

Well on to the first prenatal visit! Oh isn’t this one always so much fun? I love how one second the doctor is shaking your hand and then only moments later putting it places only he has been! I can’t seem to get these images out of my mind when he stretches his hand out to welcome me. I find myself giving one of those limp handshakes that I hate so much! Ok, anyway…everything went fine. I am measuring about 2 weeks ahead, but I know my dates are exact. This has happened with both of my other pregnancies too. When I was three months pregnant with Maxwell people would ask me how much longer I had, thinking that I was due any second! It is insane how huge I get! But from 6-9 months I don’t grow at all! Weird huh? He said that he doesn’t think any early testing is necessary. We are going to wait for our ultrasound at 18 weeks but he says that he has never had any patient have two babies with a defect. That made me feel better. So now we are just playing the waiting game I guess. My official due date is July 29th…sounds hot!!!

Well that’s it! I am on my way home from work right now. I also saw my family doctor yesterday who diagnosed me with bronchitis. Oh, how fun. So I am going home to sleep and drink tea!

Hope everyone has a fabulous week!

Love Nicole
