Introduction
Hello All!
Happy Tuesday. I do not know about anyone else, but what a crappy day. Here in Southeast Missouri it is pouring rain, and it is so hard to go back to work after being off for a while, although I love having a holiday!
Well, Miranda's 4th B-Day is coming up on Sep. 12th, and the parties have already started. She and her cousin, big Megan(what M calls her, Megan is her idol) who's B-day it was yesterday, celebrated with the first party at 4:00 yesterday. It was great fun. They live on a farm, and have a/c and a fridge in their huge garage, and the entire family (well most, about 30 people + 12 kids) gather for picnic and cake and gifts. It was a huge success.
I was very excited, as M wanted a Wizard of Oz cake. She is Dorothy crazy, and even received red ruby slippers as a gift from who but her idol, big Megan. Well, I had a very hard time finding someone who could decorate a cake in Wizard of Oz, but I did! It was so cute, it had the entire crew on it, even Toto. She was loving that. She plans on being Dorothy for Halloween.
Well, what can I say, we have a generous family. She got ruby slippers, sparkly blue tennis shoes (that she is allowed to wear to school, yea) books, an adorable ABC doll, a baby doll, and a Cinderella pillow. That is just party number one of five. Yes, five.
I know, it is rediculous, but fun. She has a party with Megan, a party at my moms (Mimi's), a party at preschool, a party at Thursday school at church, and a party at the gym. Needless to say, i do not buy gifts for every one of these. I bought the Cinderella pillow and I will buy her big gift (which I do not know what) for at my moms. The problem is that we have a really large family, who all want to buy something. They ask me for months what to buy, and then I am left wondering what to buy myself. I am sure I can figure something out, as she loves everything.
Also, before everyone rants about my spoiled child, know that at the church party, and the preschool party, there are no gifts. There will be at the gym, but this is the first year I have had a party that I invited her friends, we will see how it goes. Needless, I am a bit nervous, but it is only a couple of hours, and really I just watch and pitch in where needed. The staff run the show.
My big problem is that M is an only grandchild on my side, and she is desperately spoiled by my parents, and sister, and everyone else. My mom bought her a Barbie Jeep for her B-day. I saw a perfect one for $75 at a garage sale, but no, not for my mom. She bought a new one. We do not have alot of money, but we can afford to buy M nice things, and send her to the best preschool. I just do not want my mom to think she has to compensate for me. Does anyone else have this problem?
On another note, I am so proud of myself. I scrapped 6 pages over the weekend. They are really good quality ones, not just slapped in the book. I found some stuff I had bought a long time ago, and forgot about. I felt like it was Christmas when I found it, and I just had to do a few pages. I took lots of pics yesterday, and plan to scrap them too. I had to get a few of me and my DH, because my entire book seems to be of Miranda, not that anyone minds! I took my scrapbook to M's party, and everyone enjoyed looking at it. I really love doing this as a hobby, it is fun. I dont think DH thinks so, but I dont care.
Well, I better run. I hope everyone has a wonderful day. I a sorry I write so much, it is just that I have waited so long for this diary, and well, I have alot to say!
Hugs,
Nicky
