My name is Megan and my husband is Jerry. We live in Katy, Texas, which is 30 miles west of Houston. In addition to being a Mom to my children, I work fulltime outside the home as a paralegal. My husband works in sales management for Coca-Cola. We were married on the 4th of July, 1998, in a charming wedding chapel in Las Vegas, surrounded by friends and family. From the beginning, we have always wanted children. Our daughter, Rachel Austin, was born the following August 3, 1999, (8 lb, 10 oz, 22 inches). What a joy! Giving birth to her brought new meaning and many changes to our lives. We felt doubly blessed when our son, Mitchell Jared, was born two years later on October 2, 2001 (9 lb, 8 oz, 22 1/2 inches).
My parents love to tell me stories of things that happened when I was a young child. I still enjoy hearing them over and over. Rachel loves hearing stories about when she was a baby. She often asks for me to repeat the same story over and over, and often she will say, "remember when I was a baby and . . . " She fills in the blank as if she clearly remembers it herself. Thirty years from now, I know I will not remember it all. I've had my fair share of *Senior Moments,* more than I'd like to admit, so for this reason, I'd like to continue journaling for the benefit of my children. Hopefully they will enjoy reading stories about their younger years and know how much they are loved and cherished. This is my gift to them.
They say with age comes wisdom. But then your memory fails and you forget how smart you are supposed to be. That's me.
Warmly,
Megan (Mom to Rachel & Mitch)
