K-K-K-KATIE, BEAUTIFUL KATIE (over 7 mos)!
What can I say? I am absolutely enamored by this girl of mine. Chris and I both are. We go in there and peek at her when she's sleeping, touch those sweaty little curls at the back of her neck, stroke her face in the glow of the nightlight. She's just so wonderful - every little chubby inch of her! I don't know how it is that we got so lucky, or what we every did to deserve this.
Katie is working on teeth #4&5 right now! Her first three were all on the bottom, and these two are top center. She is a bit on the fussy side about it all, but not unbearably so. Her ears seem to be all better - we're going in for a re-check this week.
She is also becoming more mobile. She scooches on her back and rolls to get around. She's moved a few feet so far and frequently changes her position. She's also taken to 'lap diving' lately - she'll lean right off our laps to get anything she wants to grab! Still no crawling, but just this week she started getting up on all fours.
ME - THE DOMESTIC GODDESS?
Well, maybe that's pushing it. Yes, it definitely is. But, I feel pretty proud of myself. I started making baby food for Katie! It does seem like a rather easy task, and it really is, but if you really knew me you'd know it's quite a big deal! Not because I can't cook, because I do okay, but because it involves taking time in the kitchen and planning ahead - my weak points! Anyway, so far I've made carrots, peas&carrots, pears, and butternut squash for Katie. My next endeavors will be sweet potatoes and plums. There are things I won't make for he because they just seem time and cost-prohibitive r - cherries, strained meats, etc. For meats, which she is not quite eating yet, I have some jars of the Gerber organics that I bought w/coupons. I just don't cook meat enough around here to make it worth my while to do it. I did find some good recipe sites on the web, so I'll post them on my TTM board. If anyone else has good recipes, bring them on!
Okay, I'm going to close with an email forward I got that I thought was hilarious! I only have one child and I think my DH would be voted off before long - ha ha! As sweet as they are, I really think most hubbies aren't cut out for the whole mothering biz. Anyway, I will close with this email.
Take care - would love recipe/food ideas on my TTM board, or just pop by to say hello!
