Laura's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

July 9, 2004

One week down, probably less than a week to go. Who am I kidding? Wait until next weekend to test?! Ha!!! :) With my other IUI pregnancies I've tested about 10-12 days afterwards. I don't have ANY hpts in the house, so we'll see when I break down and buy some. You think twice about going out when it involves taking a toddler with you. It's not like I can just go through the drive-through pharmacy window and say, "Hey, will you grab me some pregnancy tests while you're at it?"

"The Girls" (aka: my BBs) are killin' me! This started yesterday and hasn't let up yet. I used to wonder if I had a sensitive chest while in the 2WW - holy cow, now I know what a sensitive chest feels like! I also feel VERY run-down. But of course, these things don't guarantee that I'm pregnant. The soreness could just be from clomid or something like that, and the run-down feeling could be because I haven't had any caffeine in a week. It's very hard not to overanalyze these things, you know?!

Let me tell you some things about Katie: She is stuck on "Old MacDonald" right now. She walks around singing "E,I,E,I, Oooooo!" all the time! It's pretty funny. Sometimes I'll sing a different song to get her to switch, but when I stop and wait for her to chime in, it's, "E,I,E,I,O!" The girl has a one-track mind.

Her favorite activity, by far, is being read to. She brings us books multiple times a day, and now has different names for them. Dr.Seuss's ABC book she calls, "A,A,A," and then she's got a book with pictures of babies and one of the pages is, "Baby Happy, Baby Sad," so she calls it the "Happy, Sad" book. She has about 5 'regulars' that she pulls out and gives us names for. It's really quite something.

The funniest thing she says is actually something she's been saying for a couple of months now. When we first started trying to get her to say "Please," We did the typical parental, "What do you say?" to which she would respond, "Pease." However, in the last couple of months, in addition to or sometimes instead of saying please, she'll say, "I say...I say!"

I keep saying this about every stage, but I think this is my favorite one.

I'll post news when there's news to post...
