Things I hate on the morning of my first day back at work:
1. The fact that I'm still a lard-butt and can't get into my work clothes
2. People who are not lard-butts 6 weeks post-partum and look great in their work clothes
3. People who told me I would lose weight faster because I'm nursing
4. Me for believing them
5. Being awake from 2:30-5:00 because my son decided to stay awake just to screw with me on my first morning back
6. Coworkers who ask, "How are you feeling about leaving the kids? Was it hard coming back?"
Things that make the first morning back to work more bearable:
1. Being blessed with said son, even if he does like to screw with me
2. Listening to my daughter wake up singing "Smelly Cat" (you know, the Phoebe song) over the baby monitor
3. Having a job that I actually enjoy and that pays money
4. Caribou Coffee sugar free caramel lattes
5. A car ride where I can listen to "My" music without protest from the toddler crowd
6. Knowing my children are going to be well cared for each day by one of their wonderful grandmothers
