Almost 33 weeks...
Okay, I'll admit ahead of time that I am CRANKY this week! The main source of my crankiness is my booty, so be forewarned!
Yes, folks, the 'roids have come out in full force! Okay, so it's only one hemorrhoid, but, as the Crocodile Hunter would say, "She's a Beaut!" Somehow I escaped this in my pregnancy with Katie. I read that 50% of women get them when pregnant. Funny, it's the same % chance that I had of getting gestational diabetes again, and at this point I have to admit that if I had my choice, I would have picked the GD over this. So, I've been doing all the right things - sitz baths twice a day, tucks, all that stuff, and this thing just will not go away. My mother, in an unusual show of pessimism, said, "Yeah, it probably won't go away before you deliver." HELLO?! Hmmmm...if that is the case then I will be pre-ordering my epidural, thank you very much.
Yeah, I have a lot to be thankful for, but right now I feel fat and uncomfortable. Let's be honest - it's not all roses and chocolate.
The better news is that I am now working mornings only, which is LOVELY. I get home, Katie and I eat lunch together, then we both take our naps and are energized for the rest of the afternoon/evening.
What else...?
Katie is going to be TWO in just a couple of weeks! I can hardly believe it. She has changed SO much in the past year. I said the same thing when she turned one, but it's also true between one and two. I wonder when it slows down - When she's 20?
We are in the stage right now of wanting to read the same book - over and over and OVER again. It's amazing to me how quickly she memorizes them.
Lately we've been having late-night wakeups for no apparent reason. Just about every night K has woken up sometime between midnight and 3 a.m. She's not in pain or anything, but will wake up crying pretty hard. We give her a few minutes and then one of us (most often Chris) goes down there. The funny thing is that now she's gotten to the point where Chris goes in and she says, "Hi, wanna get up?" and he says, "No, it's night night time. Go back to sleep," and she DOES! It's really pretty cute, although we'd settle for her not waking up at all. At least she goes back down pretty easily most of the time now.
She has started swim lessons again, and also goes to library time with Grandma once a week. It's very cute - she comes home with little crafts and coloring pages. They are both on the same day (swimmning in the evening), which is fine, except for the rest of the week she's asking about swimming and library hour! When I'm home for maternity leave I'm going to get to take her while my MIL comes over and watches the baby. I'm looking forward to it, and am glad I'll have some time to do special 'big kid' things with Katie by herself.
That's about all from the bitter barn.
