I Am Alive TTM Post
Okay, first of all it has been AMAZING reading all of your messages to me, Simon and our newest family member, Iain. Thank you so much for all the well wishes and congratulations
The week has been long, settling into a routine and all. My milk came in the day we left the hospital and I became beyond engorged on my left breast - so much so that the nurse who visits after you are discharged came by not once, but twice and then scheduled an appointment for us at their office in the hospital... The nurse worked and massaged for over an hour on my breast to get the milk flowing Since then, I have had 3 successful feedings on that side, which obviously makes me feel much better emotionally AND physically!
Iain is doing very very well, already over his birth weight by day 5, another relief for me since I had only been able to feed on one side up until yesterday! He is incredibly strong and startles himself awake much of the time, so we have kept him nicely swaddled so he can sleep!
Simon has been doing an AMAZING job taking care of me and Iain, and Brook and Scarlett too. How incredibly blessed I am to have such a man as my husband, and father to our first born!
It is my intention to post the couple of weeks entries I had left to post, then do the birth story, for you all and for myself too... I want to make sure I remember those last couple of weeks before Iain came into our lives So, those entries will hopefully be trickling in, as time permits me (and my sweet, sweet baby boy).
Thanks again for all of your posts,
Love, Laura and Iain
