Lara's Diary Entries

Macy - 3.5
Erin – 9 months today!

I’m going to start an entry today, but I doubt I’ll get it posted. It may take me a few days to get it done.

November 1, 2002

I can’t believe Erin has been out, as long as she was in! That seems like a milestone to me - Amazing!

I have to say, Erin is the sweetest baby ever! I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, I could never have imagined loving a second child as much as I do Erin. I went back and read some of my entries from this time last year and I was really struggling with how a second child would affect our family. Well, I’m happy to report that apart the physical demands of having 2 children it’s been great. My love for her grows everyday and I just couldn’t imagine our lives without her.

Catching up on the girls…

They are both finally well. Erin got over her ear infection pretty quickly and then Macy ran the board with different things. Three nights in a row I gave her a different, new medicine. One morning she got up and was in our bed watching TV and just threw up all over our bed (yuck!). I took her to the Dr. that morning and he said her lungs were clear and the upset stomach was probably due to mucus draining into her stomach. So that night when she woke up saying her stomach hurt I took her seriously. I got her a dose of Benedryl and a few sips of Coke (nothing settles my stomach faster than Coke!). She didn’t get sick that night. Then she wakes up the next morning and she has diarrhea off and on all day, so before bed I give her some Keopektate. Then the next night she starts coughing like crazy. She’s totally asleep, but after coughing for about 20 min I gave her some cough medicine, she didn’t make a peep the rest of the night. So, that was 3 new medicines and 3 nights. That’s a new record for us! She seems to have recovered from everything and she’s doing just great now. Well, see how long they stay well :o)

Winter has arrived….

Boy has it gotten cold her in Georgia! We skipped right pasted fall and went straight to winter. Monday the high was 74, today we’ll be lucky to get to 55. It’s supposed to be in the 30’s tonight. I had the A/C running on Monday afternoon and on Friday afternoon I’ve got the heat going. That’s just like Georgia for ya! I love the cooler weather. I got to put some new things on the girls and I broke out our winter clothes. I’m pretty sick of it come spring, but for now I’m enjoying it. The leaves are really changing colors now as well. As I sit here looking out the window all I see is red and yellow. It’s really nice. I love crawling into bed and sheets are slightly cool and waking up during the night and pulling covers up to my neck. I get the best sleep during the winter!

Halloween…

Macy really enjoyed Halloween this year. We’re not ones to go all out for Halloween, but we do like to dress the kids up and take them trick or treating just around our section of the neighborhood. It was really cold, but she still enjoyed getting some candy. She is not a big sweet eater and she mostly wanted the suckers. She actually really doesn’t like chocolate and that’s fine with me! She did have fun and she looked so cute in her ballerina costume.

Okay, I’m having a harder time than I thought getting this entry posted. So, I’m just going to end this entry with my organizing tip.

I did get this idea from FlyLady, but it has saved me more than once. I went out and bought cleaning products for every bathroom. I have 2.5 bathrooms and I was having a terrible time keeping them clean. I bought cheap plastic bins to put under the stink and I bought identical products for each room. I got plain Windex, Comet, and lemon 409. It was cheap and it does just about everything I need. I also keep a roll of paper towels under each sink. So now, when Macy’s in the bath I can just reach under the sink grab what I need and get the bathroom cleaned in a few minutes. I have added a few things to my cleaning supplies. I keep Clorox Wipes behind the toilet in the master bathroom. I use them to do a quick wipe of the toilet to keep it clean. And I use X-14 to clean the mildew in the master shower. We have glass shower doors they are hard to keep clean. Having the supplies handy and available when I need them has really helped to keep my bathrooms clean. If you do a little when you’re in there it’s easier to keep them clean then having to spend an hour cleaning it all at one time.

So, that’s my tip for this entry. I’m still open to anyone that wants to add there organizing tips!

I hope everyone is doing well!

Take care, Lara, Macy & Erin
