Labor Day
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. We didn’t really do anything too exciting. I actually took the Friday before hand off to go to some doctor’s appointments. That was quite fun. Spent half my day at the doctor’s office, or the lab or the x-ray office. Saturday my DH and I got up and went into our sunroom and had coffee and worked on a puzzle that I had bought for him quite a few years back. We sat there for about four hours and completed it. I was sure that because it was opened and so old we would be missing pieces but we weren’t until Remi (our 7 month old lab) found one, just one piece on the floor and chewed it to shreds. If anything is missing a piece it drives me absolutely bananas. We have a ton of Disney movies, and I keep them all in their proper boxes, I know who we have lent them out to and so forth. So imagine my surprise when I couldn’t find our Monster’s Inc. movie. It drove me CRAZY for a week and a half. I called everyone we know to see if DH had lent it to them and he forgot to tell me. I tore the house apart looking for it and still couldn’t find it. About a week and a half later I admitted defeat and was ready to throw in the towel. But wait, I still had one place to look that never dawned on me in a million years. The PS2. Apparently not only does it play video games, but it also plays movies. Who’d of thunk! Blaming that one on DH! Anyway, enough of that tangent. Afterward we basically did nothing all day. Played with the kids and hung out. Sunday hit and we started to clean, do yard work, grocery store. Normal weekend chores. We wanted to take the kids to the zoo on Monday but it was kinda yucky out and we started to clean out our basement. That took the entire day. So, like I said, not too exciting.
Rain, Rain Go AWAY!!!
I swear, I thought I was going to turn into a fish. It has rained here for 4 days and on and off all last week. The kids were stuck inside at daycare, so if it even stopped briefly, we went outside for some fresh air. Today is absolutely gorgeous though. I can’t wait. Why does it seem the crappier the weather, the crappier the traffic? Luckily we have had a few good days of sun. Traffic is still crappy though! No matter if the wind changes directions or there is a pebble in the road the traffic is horrible. I have to get up at 4:45 in the morning just to get out of the house by 6:40 to drop the kids off at daycare and barely make it to work by 8:30. Getting real old real fast!
College
I really don’t mind being in school. I am not by all means the youngest or the oldest in the class. But, I have a major issue with standing up in front of the class to do a presentation. I have major anxiety about this and I know eventually I will have to do this for 2 case studies that we have to do and an observation during the last class. Is there something other than doing a quick shot before going into class that day to help calm my nerves. I know, I know! You are probably thinking….this woman wants to be a teacher. For some reason, standing in front of a bunch of five year olds is not quite as nerving!
Our house
We bought our house almost one year ago. Its about 30 years old, so there are a few things that we would like to do to it. I think we will start in the kids bedrooms and work our way around the house. Its amazing what a little paint and curtains can do to a room. The people that lived there before us had hard wood floors through out the entire house that they carpeted up. So, we will rip up all the carpet and paint and put up new curtains to start. We should be starting that soon.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!
Next time I will try to update more about the kids.
