Great Book Finds

I am addicted to books. Let me clarify, I am addicted to buying books not necessarily addicted to reading them. Anyone else out there like that? My hubby makes fun of me all the time because I always want to buy every book in sight but I never read them and if I do start them, I never finish them. It makes no sense at all. It's even a running joke with us, every time I buy a book; I know the chances aren't too good that I will actually read it in the next 10 years. I should probably start getting my books through the local library so I am not paying for books that I may never read. As you can probably imagine, I did check out some books when I recently had time to myself and went to the local library. I wanted to share two of them with you all - of course they are about - parenting :) For all you Stay at Home Moms if you ever struggle with your decision or just need extra support, I recommend the book, "Staying Home, From Full Time Professional to Full Time Parent" by Darcie Sanders and Martha M. Bullen. It's a great read if you ever feel isolated or lonely. Another book entitled, "Mother Power," by Jacqueline Hornor Plumez, PHD is really great! It’s all about the differences that many women have made all over the world. If you ever have a day when you wonder if you are making a difference as a mother, read this book! It truly makes you realize the difference all moms, working and stay at home, make in the world.

Unsuccessful Attempt at Getting Pictures Done

Well, on Saturday we failed at our attempt at getting professional pictures done of Nathan. It's been 5 months since we had them done and we were really looking forward to new pictures. However, Nathan wanted nothing to do with getting his picture done. I think he was afraid of the bright lights and camera. Not to mention, the photographer. We have never had much luck when it turns out to be a certain guy taking the pictures. Nathan basically cried and screamed for 30-45 mins, we kept telling the guy we should just give up but he kept trying. UGH!!!! We know our son. Even if we would have gotten a decent shot, chances are there would have been snot on his face and his face would have been all red from his crying episodes. We did order one shot - that was half way decent and it only cost us like $7.00 for a bunch of pictures. So we will see in a few weeks what it actually looks like in person.

Pictures of Ultrasound and Nathan with Elmo and Cookie Monster

Just wanted to let you all know we have posted our new ultrasound pictures of Austin on our website. Everything looked good, so it just turned out to be another chance to see our little miracle :) We have also posted some new pics of Nathan with Elmo and Cookie Monster and a few other ones. Just click on our website and click on Sept Ultrasound and Visit with Elmo to see pics! Let us know what you think! TTM :)

This Week's Happenings

We have a busy week ahead of us. Tuesday afternoon I have my next routine OB appt and then Tuesday evening the three of us are driving to St Louis to meet up with an old co worker of Kevin’s. We were pretty good friends with her and her family and she will be in St Louis this week for her new job. She hasn't seen Nathan since he started walking and that was a long time ago! So the last time she saw him he was a baby and he is now a toddler in full force :) BIG DIFFERENCE!!! Thursday morning we have our normal play pals session and then Thursday night we might be going out to dinner with a big group of people. Basically, all of Kevin’s co-workers are meeting up with our friend and we are hoping we can join in the fun. We aren't too sure what to do because Nathan is a BIG handful right now in public places and it all depends on if they take reservations or not. There is no way we could wait for an hour or two for a table with Nathan. So we will see. And then Friday we will be packing up and traveling to Quincy to see my family again. It’s only been a month since we were there but if we don't go now it will be awhile till we can go again because our weekends are getting full and it's only every other weekend we can even go to Quincy, because of my mom's work schedule. So, it looks like Monday and Wednesday may be our only slower days. And if we hear from my best friend who lives an hour away we may go see her on Monday or Wednesday. I am going to be exhausted before we even go out of town :) Under normal circumstances I wouldn’t be so worn out, but this pregnancy is really kicking my butt :) We will be in Quincy till Sunday pm and then Kevin has to go out of town next week for work UGH! I am going to be so worn out I tell ya... Traveling with Nathan wears me out and it will be even more tiring since Kevin has to travel for work basically as soon as we get home. He will be tired as well. It will just be Nathan and I for several days next week.

Would love to hear from you! Talk To Me :):)!!

God Bless~
Kelly, Nathan, and Austin :)

P.S. By the way our car ride to Quincy may be less stressful because we broke down and bought a portable DVD player (inspired by Corinne of Moms Today). We won't be able to enjoy adult movies on it but at least Nathan will be busy watching Elmo and Sesame Street on it. Normally, our car rides are really stressful and we decided to help ourselves out with that. Let's hope it helps all three of us. We should receive it before our trip.
