Kathy's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |
August 29, 2002
Well today began not so well. Before work I had to take Michael (my 2 1/2 year old) to the pediatric dentist for his first official check up. We brush his teeth together every night, plus the nanny helps him brush after every meal. Last night I talked with him about the dentist, and how he might want to look in his mouth, count his teeth, etc. Michael is totally fine with all of this. We get there this morning, and he is completely hysterical, crying the entire time. I felt like such a bad mom! The dentist and his staff were so nice, trying to get him to be more comfortable, but Michael was having none of it. Luckily, the little bit the dentist did get to see looked good, so we'll go again in another 6 months. Maybe I'll make daddy take him! :)
I am struggling to get into some kind of meal routine for the family. I hate dinner time, as we never know what to have, or don't have time to make anything good. Plus, the kids are at a picky stage, so even if we do make something, I sometimes end up making something else for them. Ugh! Any ideas? I've gotten some cookbooks in the hopes of getting some new ideas and finding some new family favorites, but it just seems daunting. If I ever won the lottery, I think the first thing I would do is to hire a personal chef!
Well, I've rambled on a bit here, so I should go and get back to work. Take care of yourselves and your families!
