Where to start… I have not been keeping up with this diary at all I am so sorry….

Vacation…

Two weeks from tomorrow (May 19) we will be heading to Florida for a 1 week vacation!! It will be Michael’s first plane ride and 1st real vacation! I am excited to be going away as this will be the 1st real vacation since we were in Vegas and I got pregnant! We have been telling Michael all about the plane, and he will out of nowhere say to us… Go in the plane in the sky to see Grandma in Florida!!! He seems really excited and I am hoping for a smooth ride :)

Vocabulary

Michael’s vocabulary is amazing. Where he gets some of his comments from is beyond me. He is so funny to listen to! He has taken to telling the doggies to be quiet whenever they bark, as well as telling our bird Pluto that he needs to stay in the house. We bought him the Leap Frog’s Letters and Words videos and he adores them. He can now identify all letters of the alphabet and also knows the sounds they make. We cannot go anywhere without him spelling out the letters that he sees. If you walk him around a store he will point out all the numbers and letters that he sees along the way. He also likes to ask us questions… “Mommy, what does the letter A say?” He does have a habit of confusing his letters and his numbers. He will say number A instead of letter. He still doesn’t recognize all of the lowercase letters perfectly but had a firm grasp of numbers and letters.

Big Boy Room

Well I bought a bedding set for his big boy room, it’s a construction set with cranes and trucks on it. We also put up chair molding and painted the bottom a dark navy. The light yellow remains on top. It looks really nice and all we have left is some touch up painting. We can then buy the twin size bed and let the fun begin. Michael is still nursing and co-sleeping and he is showing no signs of wanting that relationship to end so this could be interesting. I am not planning on starting anything until after we get back from vacation. I am hoping that the different routine with vacation will help stir stuff up.

Other Fun Stuff

Michael still loves to be outside and we installed the carrier on the back of the bike to take him on bike rides. He loves this and even allows you to put his helmet on. He now asks to go for bike rides to the park! He hated swings once again at the beginning of the season, but now has warmed up to them again and is beginning to love them. His favorite thing at the park is still the slides and now is even starting to play more in the tunnels.

We visited the Jelly Belly store in Kenosha, WI this past weekend and took their warehouse tour on the train. Michael got a big kick out of this exclaiming “Choo, Choo” every time the train moved.

• Still no 2 year molars, although he sticks his hands in his mouth all the time.
• Bought a potty seat and a step stool for Michael to use, but he is showing no signs of starting potty training.
• Michael loves to wash his hands using his stool in the bathroom and make bubbles with the soap.
• His eczema is acting up again on his legs and if it doesn’t get better I will have to take him back to the doctor.
• He is wearing 24 Month / 2T clothing and size 8 – 8 ˝ Shoes
• He has received two haircuts now without crying and is starting to enjoy the process.

Take Care –
