2 Years Old….
Happy 2nd Birthday my precious son! You are a true blessing from above! I can’t believe each and every day how lucky I am that you choose me to be your Mom!
I am so far behind on this diary that I will just start back at Christmas and work my way forward :)
Christmas 2003
This was the 1st year in all the years I have been on this Earth that I have not celebrated Christmas with my Mom and her side of the family. She is now in Florida and so is my Grandma and they had their own celebration there. It was nice having just a night to relax as we normally celebrate on Christmas Eve, but I missed the tradition terribly. Christmas morning came and Michael opened all his presents from Santa and DH and I. He was a pro this year, ripping stuff open and then saying “WOW”! He received quite a few favorites including; My 1st Leap Pad, Magna Doodle, GeoTrax train set, and a bunch more! Early afternoon DH’s side of the family arrived and he continued to open presents. What fun it is now that he knows Santa. All he kept saying was Santa, Santa… He would even point him out when he was on TV for the Target commercials!
DH’s Mom was missed greatly by everyone this year. I hope she was able to see the joy Michael had!
That following Saturday we went to my Uncle’s party in Oakbrook. I was able to meet my 1st cousin’s son for the 1st time Drew. He was a cute little 7-8 month old. It was amazing how far Michael has come when you compare them! Michael was chatting with my uncle and my uncle was asking Michael all sorts of questions. Where are your eyes, nose, mouth, feet, etc. Finally he patted the couch they were sitting on and asked Michael, “What’s this?” Michael looked him directly in the eye and quickly responds “A place to sit!” What a great 22 month old! My uncle was laughing so hard :)
New Years
New Years came and went without much fanfare at our house. DH had been working long hours at work, but receiving nice bonus’s!!!
Work
I had a huge awards event at work and so Ken was left to handle Michael’s bedtime routine. Luckily enough Michael actually went to bed for Ken! Of course he woke up as soon as I got home and wanted to nurse till there was no tomorrow! It’s a start though!
2nd Birthday Party!
Soon after New Years the Blue’s Clues birthday party invitations went out! He ended up having about 30+ people over for his party! He of course was diagnosed with an ear infection the day before the party, but with Motrin he was a star! He received a ton of presents of course, including; GeoTrax add-ons, a Fisher Price Power Touch learning system, summer clothes, and a Leapfrog Imagiariam desk from his sitter! He had a Choo-choo train on his birthday cake! He had fun opening his presents and all in all enjoyed his day. He got to spend time with his Great Grandma Jo and Grandma and Grandpa Chris and Bob as they made the trip up from Florida to visit!
Chicago Auto Show
We took Michael to the auto show on Valentines Day. He had fun looking at the cars and driving downtown seeing the lake!
2 Year Well Check-up
Michael had his 2 year check-up on February 17th. He now weighs 28 pounds 12 ounces and is 35” tall. 50% for height and weight on the charts and 75% for head circumference. He passes all his milestones and his lead testing questionnaire. The doctor told me he has an “amazing vocabulary”, and that I should be a poster mom for how to help their child learn. (I was happy to receive this compliment!) He received one shot, the TB test which he wasn’t too happy with, but all in all his is a perfectly healthy 2 year old! YEAH!!!
I think that’s about all right now!
Stats
28 pounds 12 oz.
35” tall
16 teeth – may be starting to get 2 year molars?
Loves Dora the Explorer and speaks some Spanish
Still enjoys, Blues Clues, Wiggles, and JoJo’s Circus
Loves Trains and Planes
