"Clean up this mess! It looks like a hurricane's been here!"
Remember that from when you were young? Well, in our case, it's true! Charley actually marched right down our street. We are literally in the center of the worst parts of it. You cannot imagine the damage around here. They say it's BILLIONS of dollars worth, and will take MONTHS to clean up. We were without power from Friday night until Wednesday night. It was really awful. We spent 2 nights with a friend and two in a hotel. Between that and having to buy ALL of our meals since the hurricane, we are in serious fnancial trouble. If you're so inclined, please pray for us and for the recovery effort in general. It is so freaky to see all this. I have lived here my whole life, and like most natives, never take these things seriously. Guess I've learned my lesson, huh? We're really glad to be home, though. It was rough on the kids to have their routine upset so much, and they are doing much better now that we're back home.
Anyway, TIA for your prayers. Sorry this is so short, but I hear Josh waking from his nap. I'll write again soon! =D
TTYL,
Jennifer
