Short and Sweet
JOSH (7+ MONTHS):
What has Josh been up to? Let's see...Ummmm...NOTHING! LOL. No teeth, no crawling, nuthin'! :)
He eats really well. I don't think he's ever met a food he didn't like! One didn't like him, though- I think it was strawberries or cherries. He broke out in a rash! Red splotchy spots all over his body. I believe he was also allergic to the amoxicillin we gave him for his ear infection, b/c he broke out then, too. Who knew I'd have such a sensitive little boy?
I am beginning to wonder if he'll ever crawl. Here's why:
When we put him on his tummy, one of three things happens-
1) He immediately rolls over (and possibly over a few more times if he sees something interesting).
2) He bulldozes his head into the carpet as if he were trying to drill a hole with his face! Obviously, this would be painful, so he gets mad and cries.
3) He just lays there on his tummy and sucks his thumb. :)
He doesn't try to crawl, doesn't get up on his hands and knees at all. I've tried to prop him up on them, and he just gets mad. I've heard that some babies skip crawling and just go straight to walking...Am I ever in trouble!!
He is such a sweet baby and SO cute! His laugh is so adorable. He likes Peek-a-boo, tickling games, patty cake and singing. His favorite toys? Anything he's not supposed to play with- the phone (and phone cord! ugh), the remote, hair!! He's also very fond of pinching, although it's not on purpose. Still hurts, though! :p
He also likes to scare mommy to death nearly every day by choking on something!! Whenever he has Cheerios or wagon wheels (I have come to despise those things!!), he crams his mouth full and ends up choking. It's a big battle with him to keep him from doing it!
SARAH (2 YEARS, 7.5 MONTHS)
Sarah is such a joy. Every day I am so amazed at the things she says and does. Her capacity to not only retain information, but to comprehend it is astounding. She is able to understand so much of what is going on around her, and she can articulate exactly what it is she wants to say. I almost don't know what to do with her sometimes b/c with the way she talks, it fools me into believing I can reason with her like an adult (or at least an older child) I have to force myself to remember her real age and take that into consideration.
She is bright, funny, warm and compassionate. For a couple of weeks, we went through a really rough patch where she was regressing a bit. She suddenly became clingy again and was having more potty accidents than usual. She didn't want to be apart from me, and she would fall to pieces over any little thing. I think it is getting better though. So far, this week has been good. Less crying, no accidents. Here's hoping it has run its course.
I am thinking we will probably give her another month and then let her move up to K3. I think the accidents should be pretty well done with by then and she will be ready to make the change.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST...
If you've been reading on my board at all, there's a good chance you saw this, but I'll say it again...
It's possible that I may be pregnant again. I tested twice last week, but I think it may have been too early. I have missed my period, which I would have chalked up to nursing, but I am having a LOT of other symptoms, so...
We shall see. I promise to alert you of anything newsworthy. ;)
Til Next Time,
Jennifer
