Jennifer's Diary Entries

April 5, 2003

Delinquent.  Overdue.  Late.  Neglected.

Call it what you will, but please forgive this tired soul.

Things around here have been completely insane.  We are literally starting from scratch.  When we moved to Canada, we sold almost everything.  SO, now we have to build our whole life again, furniture and all.  Moe came home yesterday from work, and he had picked up a few things he got for a good deal.  He got a nice cherry wood coffee table and a matching display cabinet, but the thing that caught my eye was the toddler bed.  He bought Sarah a toddler bed.  I felt a lump in my throat as I looked at it.  My baby is a toddler.  She still sleeps in the bed with us, and we probably won't put her in it until we get settled into our own place.  (One change at a time!)  Moe set it up in our room today, so Sarah can get used to it.  She thought it was cool, but not to sleep in...  to bounce on!  LOL.  She is growing up SOOO fast!  (sigh)

We visited some friends last night at their home.  We ordered pizza and hung out.  They have two daughters, Lizette, 11 and Janay, 6 years old, and Sarah had SO much fun!  She isn't around kids that much, but she LOVES them.  Towards the end of the evening, I guess she was feeling quite comfortable in her surroundings because she was playing on the floor with Janay, and she shoved her down!  I'm talking she took her two little hands, put them on her chest and pushed her like a school yard bully!  I was surprised, to say the least.  MY sweet angel??  Pushing someone without any provocation??  In her defense, though, I must say that she wasn't pushing out of malice.  It was a game to her.  She would push Janay down, and she would pop back up.  This was hilarious to Sarah, and they repeated this act many times.  At one point, Sarah had pushed her down and climbed on top of her, and we heard Janay holler, "EW!  Slobber!"  LOL!  Kids...

My sister and her fiance' came over today, and they brought their dog, Ellora.  She is a pug, and Sarah just adores her!  "Finally!" she must be thinking, "Someone my size!"  I must give Ellora a lot of credit.  I mean, Sarah is pretty good with her, but she's still a toddler, if you know what I mean.  Sometimes she gets a little overzealous with the poor pooch!  She is a sweet-tempered dog, though, and she takes it well.

Tomorrow is a busy day for us.  (Sundays always are.)  Besides church in the morning, we also have a Family Fun Night at 5:00pm.  They are going to BBQ and play games like softball and tug-a-war, etc.  Should be a good time.  =)

Moe's birthday is on Monday, and I still haven't got him anything. Egads! I just DO NOT know what to get him. He is the hardest person to shop for on the face of the planet!! Please, ANY advice would be GREATLY appreciated! TIA.

Well, I know this has been short. There is more to be said, but I hear the baby crying... I promise I will write again soon.
Gotta go!

Til' Next Time...
