Jennifer's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

February 19, 2003

Hello everyone! Sorry I’ve been away so long. We have all been sick here (like everyone else in the known universe, it seems!). Ahhh! Don’t you just love winter? Freezing, frigid, snow-covered COLD! Especially here in the Northeast…but I digress…

Well, it was all Moe’s fault. He started it. (Why do I suddenly feel like a 5-year-old? LOL) He caught this terrible cold with a hacking cough- you know the one I mean. He passed it on to Sarah, who then passed it along to me, my MIL, my SIL…basically the whole household! Now I know I want to encourage my child to share, but this is one thing I wish she’d kept to herself! LOL.

Anyway, her cold led to a high fever and, you guessed it, an ear infection. So now she is on antibiotics and OTC cold medicine. However, I think we will be making another trip to the doctor because her cough is just not getting better. In fact, it’s getting worse. You can hear the phlegm rattling in her chest when she breathes, and her nose is leaking nonstop. (Descriptive, no?) Poor thing! I hope it’s nothing too serious.

Let’s see…next month Sarah and I are going to Florida for two weeks to visit my family. My parents decided to fly me down as a present for my sister, Leslie. She will celebrate her 20th birthday next month. =) Expensive present, I know! But I can’t wait! Glorious sun! Warm sandy beaches! Seeing my family and friends again! Being able to drive my car! (My precious car! I miss it so much! We had to leave it there when we moved here to Canada. I haven’t driven AT ALL since we’ve been here. It’s been almost a year. That’s TOO LONG!!) Can you tell I’m psyched?? LOL.

Oh yeah! My sister is also getting married this year. She has been engaged for about a year-and-a-half, but they set the date recently. The wedding will be on November 29, 2003. Of course, I am the maid-of-honor. (or is it the “matron” of honor if you are married? Hmmm…) It’s funny, because I think to myself, “She’s too young to get married!” But then I remember that I was even younger than her!!(Only by a few months, though.)
Whoa- reality check. I guess I just can’t believe that my baby sister is getting married… she’s all grown up. Wow.

And last, but not least, I want to leave you with a bit of a teaser. Coming up in the very near future, I may have some BIG news to share. I am almost positive of it now, but I don’t want to say anything just yet. I am not trying to be mean; it’s just that I’ve had bad experiences in the past with stuff like this. You know, where you tell everyone something, and then it falls through? So, please just be patient with me, and I promise I will tell you as soon as I know for sure. (And no, I am not pregnant! At least, not that I know of…LOL.)

I hope you all are having a great week! Please stop by and say hi on my board. =)

‘Til Next Time,
Jennifer

P.S. Jen H., I have not forgotten about your request. I will write about my pregnancy soon, I promise. =) Love you all!
