Emily 2 years, 4 months

http://www.babiesonline.com/babies/j/jensem/ (adding new pictures soon)

It's been a while since I last posted. I'm hoping to remember all of the news of the past two weeks. Two weeks ago we took Emily to the fair. We had so much fun with her. Emily went on her first ride EVER. She's always been afraid of any type of a ride on toy. She doesn't even like swings, but the carousel at the fair seemed to lure her in. A few months ago when Jeremy's parents were visiting we tried to get Emily on a carousel, but by the time the ride operator was ready to start the ride Emily was ready to get off. This time Emily stayed on her horse for the beginning of the ride and actually rode for about three revolutions before wanting me to take her off the horse and hold her.

Emily wasn't the only person riding rides that day. I decided to go on a rollercoaster while Emily and Jeremy watched. I had a really fun time. I would have liked to go on a few more but I didn't want to keep leaving my family :) Arnold Schwarzenegger showed up to give a speech. We stayed to take a few pictures. That was actually the second time Emily had seen our governor. My mom and I had taken her to a rally when he was campaigning to become governor. Emily wasn't impressed then and had the same reaction at the fair. We played a couple of the carnival games and Emily won a goldfish. Her very first pet. Emily liked to call him "Trouble" but we ended up naming him Herbie. He's a cute lil guy and seems happy in our home.

Jeremy and I have still been taking our sailing course every Saturday and we've been having so much fun. Last weekend my SIL, brother and dad watched Emily at my SIL and brother's house while we went to our lesson. Apparently Emily had a really fun time visiting with them. My dad and brother decided to take her out to breakfast and my dad said she really enjoyed it. Thinking that sounded like a good idea, Jeremy and I took Emily out to breakfast on Sunday and it was a total disaster. I don't know if it's because we had done so many other activities that week or if Emily just was in a bad mood but we barely got in the restaurant and she started such a fuss. We ended up leaving right after ordering our drinks.

Earlier that week Emily and I went on a playdate to meet up with some friends from our Born in March group. We had a blast!! We met Carmajo (MT Writer) and Adrianna, and Micki (Born in March group) and her two children, Jackson and Evie. The kids played really well together and got along really well. They are finally at the age where they actually interact, haha. I have met up with Micki before but met Carmajo for the first time. She claims to be shy, but I don't believe it!! It was nice to finally be able to talk in person.

Emily has still been having issues with her bowels movements. She hasn't passed a bm in her diaper since before July 4th when she was really constipated. She's been holding everything and finally ends up relieving herself in the tub when she can't hold it anymore in the warm water. I'm not sure how to fix this situation. The potty seat is completely out of the question at this point. Emily is afraid to go anywhere near it. I think potty training is a long ways away right now.

I'm still have TTC issues. This past cycle ended up being 43 days which was REALLY frustrating. I kept holding out hope that I was actually pregnant but about 8 negative HPT's later I came to terms that that was not the case. Shortly after AF decided to show up. I'm really hoping that this will be the cycle for me, but then, I hope that every cycle so I don't know what would make this one any more special. I really thought that I was coming to terms with my situation but I've been feeling really bitter and emotional lately. I hope it's just a PMS issue.

Emily has decided to be my "baby". She now likes to baby talk and fake cry like a baby. She'll let me hold her and rock her while she makes baby noises and pretends she's sleeping. Yesterday she asked me for a bottle and laid on the couch for a few minutes drinking from her bottle. The rest of the time Emily is into EVERYTHING. She's become so outgoing and social in the last few months. One of her favorite games lately is for her to come to me and ask, "Do you want to play?" I answer yes and she takes my hand and says, "Okay, let me show you how." It's been fun playing with my girl this week :)

I'm sure there's a lot that I'm forgetting. I'll write more soon...
