Emily 2 years, 4 months
http://www.babiesonline.com/babies/j/jensem/
All this morning I was trying to figure out the best way to get to work and have somebody available to watch Emily. I suddently remembered, Emily had therapy this afternoon!!! I hate when I forget things that I should remember. I got a hold of my friend/coworker and told her I completely forgot I had a prior commitment and she told me she had done the same so we rescheduled for tomorrow, whew.
Other than that, this morning was kind of boring. This is how boring my life is...I actually had fun dusting with a new Swiffer extendable duster. I had so much fun with it that I ended up cleaning our ceiling fan in the dining area (in an apartment you don't even get a room, just an area, haha) After conquering the fan I started looking for other areas that I normally couldn't reach that needed dusting. I guess it looked like a lot of fun because Emily ran to her play kitchen and grabbed one of her forks (the closest thing that looked like my Swiffer handle I guess). She started following me around the apartment reaching up for things to "dust" with her fork.
I have to admit that this morning was a big DVD morning for Emily. It was so hot today that our balcony was way too warm and I didn't want to tire Emily out in the morning when she had therapy in the afternoon. Emily has her favorites that she always asks me for. Her most popular DVD is Kipper. She loves Kipper the Dog. I try and introduce new DVD's because even though I really like Kipper too, he's kind of well, boring. He's such a sweet mellow little guy, I just need a little more excitement sometimes. Emily remained loyal and refused any other DVD this morning so the Kipper the Dog song was stuck in my head for much of the rest of the day.
What do you do during naptime? I have never done anything productive during naptime. Usually during naptime I eat lunch. This is my most peaceful meal during the day. While I eat lunch I usually just surf the web and waste time. Recently I have started to chat with another SAHM who is as unproductive as me during naptime. Hi Elizabeth!! hahaha. I love having time to just chat about anything and everything with somebody. If anybody else wants my yahoo chat username, feel free to ask :)
After Emily's nap it was time to go to physical therapy. This is our last session until September since August is a vacation month for the facility. Emily did so well today. She is getting more and more comfortable with various play equipment and went down the slide alone for the first time. She did kind of catch a lot of speed at the very end and landed on her bum, but didn't seem to mind. She also went on a board swing all by herself and asked to be swung or spun in circles. That has never happened before. My proudest moment was halfway during therapy. The therapist who had given Emily her initial evaluation many months ago was in the facility today. She came over and told me how happy she was with Emily's progress. Emily's therapist told Ems to say hi to the lady. Emily said hi and the lady asked her what her name was. Emily said, clear as day with no prompting from anyone, "Emily Howard!" I was so proud of her.
Here's a picture I took of Emily before we left for therapy. She was dancing. She was so happy today I just had to take a picture....

Later this evening Jeremy picked up the mail and I had the best news. My annual exam from my doctor came back normal!!! I'm soooo happy. So that is one more test that I can put in my TTC file as being good. Now I'm just waiting for blood test results. I've had 2 biopsies in the past due to abnormal tests so I have been on pins and needles all week anticipating this news. I'll sleep really good tonight :)
