Emily 2 years, 3 motns

Alot has been going on with Emily so I figured I would devote this post to her. To begin with, Emily has been so constipated the past two weeks I feel so badly for her. She has stopped having BM's in her diaper altogether and ends up having them in the bath where it is too hard to hold them in. When it is at it's worst she spends most of the day stopping every 20 minutes to crouch on the floor and rock trying to keep from going. I think we are finally at the end of it. I don't know how she got so constipated in the first place.
Monday morning we had an appointment with the orthopedic surgeon. Since Emily has grown out of her braces I wanted him to look at her ankle and let me know if she needs any further support or if we can just move on to a recommended shoe. I wasn't even able to see the doctor!! I spent an hour talking to a nurse who said that this was also a 6 month follow up and the doctor wanted paperwork from Emily's physical therapist to go over her notes to make a decision on Emily's foot. I said that I understood that he would want to know Emily's progress, but that information would not change how her foot looks. They refused all my requests to see the doctor and then started questioning me about Emily's therapy.
I was so frustrated. I was asked what the phone number was to the facility and I said I didn't know it offhand but I gave them the name of it. The person I gave the information to came back to the room and told me there was no listing for this place. Finally they found a listing, but the therapist wasn't in. I ended up rescheduling the appointment for next week. I got the paperwork from Emily's therapist today. I feel like throwing it in their face at next weeks appointment.
Today I was sitting down at the computer to check some email when Emily came to my desk. She grabbed my hand and told me, "Momma, don't touch the computer!! Play with me!!" How can I ignore such a request? Right now the most popular activity has been coloring. I keep trying to show Emily all the colors she can use but she prefers her black crayon the most.
Emily has never liked to sleep with blankets or pillows and it has always kind of bothered me that she didn't like to snuggle with something. She refuses to sleep with me or Jeremy. I have always had a blanket draped on the end of her crib, mostly to block out light from her window when she naps. Emily has started to pull the blanket down and snuggle with it while she falls asleep. I know it's silly but I'm so excited that she finally is starting to use a blanket. Maybe soon I won't have to dress her in a blanket sleeper in the middle of summer.
Today our air conditioner broke so I took Emily with me to the store to get some fans while I hoped that maintenance would come and fix the air. Emily really enjoys shopping with me and I like having her to shop with. Sometimes when Jeremy is home I leave Emily home while I go shopping and I always end up missing her while I'm out. We took our time because I was in no hurry to come home to a 80+ degree apartment.
When we got back to the apartment I had just shut our door when the maintenance man came knocking on our door. Emily followed him and watched everything he did. He ended up replacing our filter which fixed the problem. Emily visited with him for a little bit and then when he left she said, "Thank You, See you later!!" It's funny to hear her having conversations with people now. Even more strange that they understand her now and I don't have to explain what she is saying. My baby is growing up!!!
I know there are a lot more things that I wanted to write about, but I just can't seem to remember any of them...until I do...
Take Care,
Jennifer
