Emily, 2 years 3 months

http://www.babiesonline.com/babies/j/jensem/

Poor Ems has not been herself the past couple of days. She started to announce whenever she needed to urinate and was really upset about it. I thought maybe she was starting to notice when she is peeing because she is getting ready to be potty trained. Late yesterday afternoon she started to hobble and do a "potty dance" while screaming bloody murder. I then knew it was more than a potty fear.

This morning I called the doctor to make an appointment and through a lot of tears and screaming I got Emily to urinate in her potty. It's actually the first time she's ever peed in the potty. I wanted to take the sample to the doctor to have it analyzed.

Emily didn't eat much at all in the morning and I was trying as best I could to get crangrape juice in her. She had a really short and restless nap. I felt so bad for her.

The doctor's visit went well. Even though Emily wasn't feeling well she got a chance to play with another little boy who was as cute as could be. They were so cute together. They even shared their toys with each other.

The doctor said that they couldn't get a good test stick reading with the sample I brought in so they will be sending it to the lab to be analyzed. In the meantime the doctor told me to not use baby wipes or soap in the bathwater. On my own I started to give Emily Motrin and it really seems to be giving her some relief.

Here is a side story to this visit. Emily is really afraid of going to the doctor's office. In her first year of life she had a lot of visits with various specialists and doctors. She has also had her head casted when she was 5 months old and that really seemed to affect her when it came to office visits. She has gotten a lot better as she realizes that the doctors are not trying to hurt her. Today she was back to her sensitive self so I brought some candy with me to keep her from screaming. I wanted to be able to hear what the doctor had to say. When I handed a mini lollipop to Emily the doctor's eyes kind of widened and I think maybe she wanted to say something but decided not to. Oh well. I guess I should try to come up with another diversion tactic but I just haven't been creative enough yet.

Before I forget I wanted to write about Jeremy's journey home from his business trip. Jeremy's flight was supposed to leave at 6:30 p.m. but due to bad weather in anothe state his flight was delayed to 10:30 p.m. It was finally time to board the plane and they were taxied on the runway when one of the passengers started to complain that the guy next to him was drunk and kept passing out and leaning on him. So it was decided that they needed to remove the drunk passenger. They had to take the plane back to the boarding area and remove him. Finally they were ready for take off, but would not be returning to the original destination planned. The Long Beach Airport where they were supposed to arrive at (and also where Jeremy's vehicle was) was closed for the night so they were now planning on flying to LAX. Jeremy called me in a panic and told me that he didn't know how he was going to get to Long Beach and even if he did, how was he going to get his truck out of a closed airport parking lot??? I tried to remain calm and told him to keep me updated. Everything turned out ok in the end. They arrived at LAX, the wife of one of Jeremy's coworkers drove him back to Long Beach and the lot remained open even though the airport was closed. So Jeremy finally made it home at 3:00 a.m.

Onto TTC information. Today is cycle day 37. I have a few symptoms that could mean pregnancy. I'm so afraid to get my hopes up. I am planning on testing tomorrow. I'd love to give Jeremy a positive test for his Father's Day present. We shall see.....

Love,
Jennifer
