Vehicle Problems Solved.
I picked up my car from the body shop on Friday. You can’t even tell that I was in an accident. I really liked the place we took it to. They even detailed my car. It’s cleaner now than it was when I took it in. Today we dropped Jeremy’s truck off at the dealer’s to have his transmission serviced. Hopefully that will be all the car problems we have for a while.
The Latest with Emily.
So much has been going on with Emily I can’t keep up with her progress. She has really blossomed in the last few months. When Emily was younger she was a very sensitive baby. Noises and busy atmospheres would send her into fits of crying. She was afraid of any new situations and other people. I would worry about her so much. I don’t know if there is a correlation, but the moment Emily began walking at 22 months she became a completely different child. She is now so outgoing and loves going anywhere new. She approaches people and talks to them all the time. Emily still acknowledges noises but not in a negative way like she used to, but now asks me, “What’s that?” I’m so happy with her progress.
Speaking of progress… Emily’s therapist (Serena) and I both agree that Emily no longer needs to come to the facility we have been going to for therapy. Serena is going to give me instructions on various exercises we can do at home. I can’t believe that we will finally be done with therapy. We began in home therapy when Emily was 5 months. Serena and I need to schedule a meeting with the school district so that Emily can be released from therapy. This is proving to be harder than it sounds and we’re stuck in paperwork limbo for a while. In the meantime I have still been taking Emily twice a week.
Emily’s favorite show to watch is Kipper the Dog. This past weekend she has started to imitate and act out different scenes from the show. It’s really funny to listen to her because all of the characters have English accents.
The Five Year Plan.
Jeremy and I have been talking about the likelihood of buying a house here in Southern California. With the prices of homes still rapidly increasing I just don’t see how we could ever afford one. We’ve always considered moving to North Carolina (a state that we both love), but the idea of moving so far away from both our families sometimes makes me sad. I think family is so important, but when do you put your immediate family first? I surely don’t know the answer. For now we have decided to wait and see what happens with the real estate here in Southern California. In the meantime we will see what happens with Jeremy’s work status and save money.
Feeling Normal.
With my new diet and exercise program I think my body has started to go back to normal. This first cycle since my miscarriage last month lasted 34 days. This is the same length my cycle was when I conceived Emily. Of course I would have liked to have gotten a positive pregnancy test instead of AF, but it beats having an 80 day cycle and going to the doctor’s office for a shot to bring AF on. I had extremely painful cramps before AF arrived and I’m hoping that is a sign that I am also ovulating on my own. I’m still hoping and praying for baby number two!!!
We’re going Sailing.
This weekend Jeremy, Emily and I went to the Dana Point Harbor to go look at the boats and walk along the docks. Jeremy and I decided to sign up for a beginning sailing course that begins in July. We wanted to see where the classes would be held beforehand. Emily suddenly has this interest in boats so we thought she would enjoy the outing also. The minute we parked the car and Emily saw one of the boats in the marina she started squealing and shaking in her carseat. She kept shouting, “BOATS!!! BOATS!!! OH MY GOSH BOATS!!!!”, over and over again. Jeremy and I were laughing so hard we had a hard time getting her out of the car.
We ended up walking up and down the marina for 2 hours, stopping to enjoy some ice cream together. It was a really nice time to spend together. I wish Emily was old enough to take the class with us. I shouldn’t feel too bad, she’ll be spoiled by my parents while Jeremy and I are away.
That’s what I’ve been up to so far. Hopefully this week will be a good one.
Love,
Jennifer
