~LAST WEEKEND~

We had a wonderful weekend with my nephews here. They got to our house on Friday night (the 3rd) and brought a birthday gift for Autumn and Gabriel. It was a game called Operation Brain Surgery, along with a bag of mini candy bars with a mylar balloon attached. I helped Heather unload all of their things and then she left and then Mark left to get them all Happy Meals from McDonalds. When the food was gone we put batteries in the new game and learned how to play it. It’s really fun and we had a great time cheering each other on. The whole weekend was filled with skating, movies, video games, bike riding, skateboarding, games and loads of talking and laughing. We enjoyed having them here so much and can’t wait for them to come back again. It was so special for me to sit and watch my own children playing with my brother’s children. Very special indeed!

~A DATE NIGHT & CATCHING UP WITH FRIENDS~

This past weekend was a whole lot of fun. On Friday night Mark and I took our kids to Christa's house so she and her husband could watch our kids for us. Mark and I went out on a date. I do believe that it was our first date since before I moved to Missouri in July. Needless to say, it was a long awaited and much needed time out for us. We went to eat Mexican food and then looked around at some stores. Then we decided to go and see "School of Rock" with Jack Black. We both loved it and can't wait for Autumn and Gabriel to see it too. We ended our date by swinging through Krispy Kreme for some hot, fresh glazed donuts. Heaven on earth!
The next night (Saturday) we had a concert at our church. The music was really good, but better than that, we were able to visit with many of our friends. When the concert was over we had Christa and her husband and son Austin over along with an old friend of ours and his fiance. We had not seen him since he moved back here from Texas years ago. It was wonderful to catch up with him and visit with everyone again. He and his fiance have asked Mark and I to sing at their wedding next month. So we were throwing some song ideas around and trying to figure out what would work. So far we have picked "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion. I'm not sure what the other song will be yet, but it will be a duet with Mark and I. We have right at a month to practice and get it all ready for the wedding.

~KID TALK~

School for the kids is still going great. Last week Matthew's class got to go to the pumpkin patch and pick one out. He brought his home and we have it sitting on the kitchen table. Christian has inhanced it with several colors from the crayon box, but we don't mind at all. WINK!
Speaking of Christian and Matthew, that brings me to my next topic. Both of them tend to wake up in the night and cry sometimes. Since Gabriel shares a room with Christian and Autumn shares a room with Matthew, it bothers them in the night and they end up going to the couch to sleep. It's not really fair to them so we've decided to change their rooms around. We will move Autumn's bed into Gabe's room so they can both sleep in peace and quiet each night. Then we'll put Christian's bed in with Matthew and they can share a room. All of Matthew's and Christian's toys are in Autumn's room anyway, so the beds are all that we'll have to move. I think this arrangement will be much better for everyone. Now if we could just get Christian to sleep in his own bed all night long instead of waking to sleep with us every night...that would be wonderful.

~OVER THE SHOULDER BOULDER HOLDER~

Last week I decided that it was time to buy a new bra since I was still wearing the same ones that I had bought earlier in the year when I was heavier. I went to JCPenny's and picked out a few bras that I thought might be the size that I needed. I really had no idea what size I was since I had lost weight. So after trying a few on and getting frustrated, I went and asked an employee for some assistance. I explained that I had lost a lot of weight and didn't know what my new bra size was. I told her that I used to buy bras for support and now I wanted something "pretty". She completely understood and went to get her measuring tape. She then handed me several bras to try on and I found some that worked perfectly. They not only support me very well but also look great. I'm very pleased...and so is Mark. WINK!

~DEAR OL' DAD~

I wanted to give an update on my dad since I haven't done that in awhile. He had a CT scan done of his neck in the Summer to see why it had some swelling in it. They found nothing and yet the swelling never did go down. Last week he went back to his doctor for a check up and had him take a look at his neck again. He agreed that another CT scan was needed which they have set up for a few weeks from now. My dad was also fitted for hearing aids. We all knew that he has had some trouble hearing and the tests that day confirmed it. He's only hearing 47% percent in both ears, so the aids will help him tremendously. He told us that we'll have to stop talking about him so much now. WINK!

~THANKFUL FOR IPARENTING~

I realized once again today how thankful I am to have been a part of this wonderful community of women. I have written for and been a part of these sites for over four years now. In that time I have come to find some wonderful friends who I would have otherwise never known. It's amazing how the internet has brought us all together and even caused some of us to become friends for life. We have shared our hopes, our dreams, our losses and our victories here. We've laughed at each other's stories and cried with each other in heartache of loss and pain. My relationships with my online friends means so much to me and I am very grateful to have them in my life. My friends, you know who you are and I want to once again say how thankful I am to know you. I hope that one day we will be able to meet face to face. To see the expressions as we converse and laugh and share in person instead of email, or post, or chat. You are all in my heart and I cherish the friendship that we have created all because of iParenting.
Thank you!!
