January 22, 2004

I am SO ready for winter to be over. The cold lately has been so harsh and I dread getting out in it each morning when I take the kids to school and Mark to work. Thankfully we haven't had much snow, so at least I'm not having to deal with that. But I'm anxious for some spring temperatures and sunny days. Christian has caught a cold and I’m taking him to the doctor today. He’s been extra cranky at night and he was rubbing his ears last night. I want to make sure that his ears don’t have an infection. Besides having the cold though, he’s still going strong and keeps me on my toes. Every time I leave the room he starts ripping through the videos and DVDs on the shelf. He knows that he’s not suppose to do this but he just loves taking them out of their boxes or cases and putting them back in. I’ve started making him clean them up and he does a pretty good job even if he does put them back upside down and crooked. :0)

Last Saturday night we took the kids to Chuck E. Cheese for a fun night out. This was the second time that Christian had ever been. The first was when he turned one and we took them to a CEC in Houston. When we got in, I took Christian’s shoes off and let him run around with Autumn and Gabriel. They helped him climb the big tower and helped him slide down the twisting slide. Then he found the smaller slide where he could climb the stairs by himself and he took off down the slide like a pro. I have a picture of him on the slide in the photo gallery of our web site. We all had a great time and it was a nice break from sitting in the house all day. My parents had stopped by earlier that morning to say hello. They were on their way to California for a two week vacation. That’s where I was born and lived until I was 11. My dad’s side of the family still lives out there. They have big plans to go and visit old friends, relatives and places that we use to live. They took their video camera and are going to give my brother and I a copy once they get back. We went with them years ago when Autumn and Gabriel were 18 months old. I would love to go back again and show them where I grew up and of coarse visit Disneyland again. They were too young to remember it last time. :0)

At the beginning of next month I’m going to start working for my parents again. They need someone to fill in for a lady who will be on vacation visiting her daughter in China. I’ll work there for two weeks and then I’ll start full force on March 1st. I’m really looking forward to having a job again and making some good extra money. Working for my parents will allow me to work for 5 hours during the day while the kids are in school. Then I’ll be able to pick them up and be with them at night. It’s perfect!

My diet is going SO well. I now weigh 138 and I even bought a pair of pants at the Gap last week that are a size 6. Amazing! I’ve lost a total of 45 pounds and I cannot wait to reach my goal. It’s such a thrill to see the change in my body and buying smaller clothes is a great reward. It’s something that I’ve wanted for so long and it’s finally happening. After writing about my weight loss in my last entry, several women wrote to me asking what I had done. I would love to share my story with anyone else who is interested. Just email me at love2sing4him@yahoo.com and I’ll send you a copy of what I’ve written. :0)

My airline ticket came in the mail the other day and I was SO excited!! I called Gay and let her know that it came and we talked about everything that we’re going to do. Honestly though, I wouldn’t care if we stayed in our jammies all day long and just talked and talked and talked some more. Have you ever had a friend that you were that close to? Some one that you could tell anything to and they’d love you and respect you no matter what. Maybe they didn’t always agree with your decisions, but they stood by you and gave 110% of their devotion and attention. That is Gay. She and I are like "soul-friends" and I’ll never find another like her. My trip is 4 weeks and 2 days away and I can hardly wait to get there to see her.

I don’t have much more to write about at the moment. Everyone is doing great and the kids are all healthy. Except for Christian’s cold of coarse. I do want to say that it’s great to see all of the updates on iParenting. I’m hoping that there are many great things in store and I look forward to getting to know all of the diary writers better.

Take care and have a wonderful week~
