Jennifer's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

August 21, 2004

Ok, so to make a long story short, Jon lost his job. They got rid of the project he was on and instead of moving him somewhere else, they decided to fire him. Oh well, he hated it there anyway. So he files for unemployment and refuses, yes, refuses, to work again. He states that HE can be the stay at home parent, like it's just SO easy and hey, all I did was sit on my butt, watched soaps, and watched the kids only during commercials, right? HA. He claims that he will not only entertain the children, but keep the house SPOTLESS (snicker), feed the kids nutritious items, and clean up the cat's hairballs in a timely manner. (Hey, it's not like they are going anywhere, right? I mean, the kids know to stay away...) So I'm starting work on Wednesday, as a cashier at PETsMART. And the sad thing is, is that we'll be making more money each month with my piddly little minimum wage job and his unemployment checks than we did when he worked full time. I'm am so not looking forward to working. Not for any reason like, OMG what if I give bad "pet parent" advice and the pet DIES, or if I accidentally accept a counterfeit $20, or if I totally mess up because I've never used a cash register, but what I really fear is coming home to a filthy roach ridden house full of trash and dirty children that haven't been fed anything all day except for ketchup packets and stale crackers while Jon is busy playing computer games and listening to music while the cat playfully chokes on the huge bugs that he can't help but hunt since he has to bring me presents and hide them under my pillow so that when I go to turn it over in the middle of the night I pick it up and taste it to see what the hell it is. So anyway, I start work on Wednesday. We'll see how that goes.

The kids are doing well, Joey really likes his new class. Yes, he is back in THAT school, but hear me out. I am SO not patient. I realized that there was NO way I could possible home school Joey and stay sane in the same day. I figure it was better to give him a chance at an education rather than have him committed to Palo Verde Mental Institution because his crazy mother screamed at him one too many times that 7 + 7 = 14, not 77. Seriously, it was also because he misses his friends and the only time he really sees them is at school, because heaven forbid they come over HERE and trash MY house and eat all MY Twinkies. Just kidding, they are really good kids, I just can't handle more than 1 7 yr old and 1 3 yr old at a time.

Joshie is going through what his grandma calls a "phase". I call it his "drive mommy up the wall and hope that she won't drop me off in front of an orphanage" stage. He constantly is testing my patience. For example (While at the park):
ME:Joshie, don't pick that up.
JOSH:Why?
ME:Because it's yucky, you don't pick up candy from the sand in the park.
JOSH:But it's M&M's.
ME:Joshua, come here and swing.
So Josh slowly inches the candy towards his mouth, while I'm running and yelling "NO!" and then I trip over the stupid little steppy thing (curb?) and fall flat on my face in the sand while he quickly eats the M&M then spits it, half-chewed, all over his clean light green shirt because it had sand on it, then starts freaking out because my knee is bleeding and then wants me to clean him up by wiping his hands and face all over MY clean shirt.
I seriously love my little son. More than life itself. I just don't know how much more I can take. Sigh. Any tips for getting a 3 yr old to listen?

Anyone out there watch Road Rules:X-Treme, Big Brother 5, or The Amazing Race? I'm so addicted to these shows, and conveniently, my work schedule allows me to be home in time to watch them. RRX:I CANNOT stand Angela, she is so jealous it makes me laugh, I miss Ibis :(...BB5:I really want Marvin or Nakomis to win, I'd love to see the twins go, and Diane too...AR:Ok, how much more annoying can Colin & Christie get??? I'm really rooting for the Bowling Moms and Chip & Kim, I'm sad that Charla & Mirna are gone, they tried so darn hard..

Anyway, thanks for stopping by, and if anything I said bothered you, sorry, but I figured I'd tried to liven things up around here, my diary is usually SO boring...don't take anything I said TOO seriously...

Did anyone notice I use capitals WAY too much? :)

Till next time, Jenjen
(Sorry, didn't spell check, am I the only one who types their entries in the little box thing they give you?)
