Jennifer's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

February 21, 2004

I can't believe my Joey is 7 today! It doesn't even seem that long. I remember when for the first 2 years of your life, it was just you and me. Those walks to the park, when you would run ahead of me to see the dogs at the grooming place, when you would stop at the collectible shop to look at the Hot Wheels in the window, and when we got to the park you would run along the path behind the tall pine trees, teasing the dog that lived in the house behind the fence. When we would get you all bundled up in your stroller and just walk, not knowing where we were going but getting there and knowing it was where we wanted to go all along. You were my little shadow, my cuddly little Joey Bear that took over my half of the bed and sometimes even booted me off. I can't believe that you are now in first grade, that you can read, that you are so independent, that you have more of a social life than I ever will. You are so smart, so brave, and the best little boy ever. I'm so lucky that you brightened my life, at a time when I needed you the most. It was hard, being so young with a baby, but if it wasn't for you, Jojo, then I don't know what I would be now. And I don't ever want to know. I love you so much, more than words. My sweet Joey, my son, my life revolves around you. And I wouldn't want it any other way.

Love, forever and ever, your Mom
