June 21, 2004

Collin – 2 years, 11 months.
Ireland – 6 months, 8 days.

I promised myself I’d try to update my diary weekly. Although I don’t have Ireland’s update ready to post, I didn’t want a week to go by without at least documenting something. That’s how I get into the habit of letting weeks and weeks go by with nothing.

Ireland and Collin both had check up’s last week. Collin had his three-year and Ireland had her 6-month. Both kids are healthy and thriving. I had no doubt about that.

We are deep in birthday party planning this week! I’m finishing getting everything ready and organized and making sure I haven’t forgotten anything for the parties. I love planning birthday parties but I always forget how expensive things can add up to. But, I’m having fun and all kids deserve a great birthday.

Collin is this close to being fully potty trained. It’s been an on again off again operation since he was about 2 but over the last couple of days, he’s been pretty consistent. He’s gotten to the point where he’ll just go, then tell us. He doesn’t need any help or assistance. He loves to run around the house nude to make going pee easier. He also loves getting a star to put on his potty chart. When he does we make a huge deal out of it and praise! Praise! Praise! Speaking of…. excuse the pun but HOLY CRAP! Collin just went poop on my laundry room floor drain. I guess when you gotta go, you gotta go! This is the first time he’s had a BM out of his diapers so I’m still proud of him!!!! Only something a parent would understand and be gleeful about.

Back this week with more!
