Jamie's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

November 21, 2002

Thank you to those who have offered tips on behavior. Hannah is getting better and I think I am understanding her needs more clearly. I am blessed that Camryn is a very content baby.

Camryn Grace
Camryn is growing so fast, I just can't believe that she is almost three months old. Camryn is intrigued with her Kisk Start Gym and really gets a good work-out in each evening. She kicks so hard and so fast she literally tires herself out. She is almost to the point were she can hold her head completely up if we are holding her in a sitting position, she still lets her head nod a bit, but if you hold her up on your shoulder she loves to look around.

Camryn is drinking 5 oz. of formula every three hours, and her pediatrician says around 14 weeks we can start cereal and other solid foods slowly. Camryn loves to eat, I cannot wait to be able to introduce different tastes and textures to her. Plus I am thinking she might go a little longer between feedings, maybe a little more sleep is in my future!

Show me those Gummies!
Camryn is the happiest baby Ihave ever seen, with little work, almost anyone can be showered with coos and gummy, ear-to-ear grins. Camryn also loves to play "Stick out your tongue" with everyone.

Thanksgiving
I volunteered to have our entire family over for Thanksgiving dinner this year. What was I thinking?!* First of all, my cooking talents are only far as the end of the Luby's Cafeteria menu, and with two small children who has time for housekeeping? I guess sometime Wednesday evening after the peacefulness of children sleeping comes over my house, then I will pray for a fairy godmother to make it all happen. After, of course, I panic, work myself into a frenzy, and Gary has to shake me back to reality.

I know it will be a blessing to my mom and MIL not have to cook and just be able to play with their precious grandbabies. But will this be the Thanksgiving that lives in enfamy? I am almost excited about the challenge of this task I have taken on, and I think this finally is proof that I am all grown up. (Sort-Of ;-))

Christmas Decorations
Our neighborhood has began putting out Christmas decorations and both of the girls love the lights. Hannah will sit at the door and look out at each of the homes. We plan to put out our decorations this weekend, I can hardly wait for Hannah to see them. She will love just getting to play outside and help her daddy. I think a daddy's girl is slowly budding in this little girl. No one can bring the cackles out of Hannah Banana like her daddy, and none can make Gary smile like Hannah can. All of Gary's family says that her little personality is just like her daddy through and through. Gary, as a child, was very curious and mischevious, but he has always had a heart of gold.

My SIL bought a fiber optic snowman and Hannah loves him. She will creep up to him and slowly reach out her hand to touch him, and with the quickest movement her little hand extends and retracts as she sprints away yelling "I got him." Her little giggle is contagious. Christmas is going to be so much fun this year!

I cannot believe this year has already come and is about to leave us. Time flies when you are having fun!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!
Jamie, Hannah and Camryn
