June 25, 2004
This is the first impromptu entry I have posted - because I normally like to put a lot of thought into the entries and compose them in word in order to more easily edit and all that.
I don't have the time to do that and I want to post this crap now, so please bear with any grammatical errors and my different tone. This is called agitated woman tone.
In spite of having bad news about Ana's ears, I am consumed by the information that has come to us today regarding Adam's job. After I posted earlier this week, Adam got a call from the RVP stating that P no longer works for the company and will not be coming to assume the position as GM in Roswell. Woo hoo, we think. RVP also states that they are waiting on final approval and plan to make Adam the GM where he has been acting GM for the past 9+ months. So, all we have been doing the past two days is waiting for this call saying it is finalized. Well, RVP called Adam this morning and told him that they are not going to promote him. That they have decided to go with someone from outside the company and that Adam will be returning to the lesser job (read here: $15k less salary) in the city. There are no plans to promote him in the foreseeable future and even though the company salary guidelines call for him to be paid at the midpoint of his range, they insist on paying him $10k less than even that. So.... We are praying that an opportunity breaks down the door within the next 3 weeks so he does not have to go back to the lesser position with his company. I ask that all of you pray or chant or do whatever it is that you believe helps in dire situations to help give us a direction here. We have moved and Adam has done everything this company has asked of him and outperformed other "seasoned" GMs to basically be told he has no future with the company. It must be that the company is run by a good ol' boy network and Adam doesn't fit the bill, in spite of his hard work and success with his hotels.
UGH! I could scream, but instead, I just post an entry and beg everyone to pray for a better solution than this. We trust that God's plan is always better than our own, but there is very little hope in him taking a step backward (though, I guess he could be out of a job completely) - basically they have made it impossible for him to consider there are possibilities in the future and it is time to move on to a different/bigger company.
Thanks for listening to me rant and I appreciate any prayers and good thoughts on our behalf.
May God bless you all this weekend and through the holiday week.
Hugs,
Holly
