The pictures that the news was showing of the captured and/or killed US POWs this weekend sickened me. How horrible! I have been in prayer for our troops. This is a difficult war and will be for a while.

Today, I found out via email that a VERY close friend of mine, who is a Marine, is more than likely in Iraq at this very moment. As of two weeks ago, he was in Kuwait City waiting for further orders. I am VERY scared, but am praying for him and the rest of our troops. This is becoming more and more personal.
We are still watching the news nightly and I try to get as much information while at work as possible. Most of us have radios that we keep tuned in to the news all day long. It’s hard to NOT know what’s going on, though.

I am still glued to the news, but I try not to watch it constantly. Last weekend, it became very depressing, especially after showing footage of those captured soldiers. I was very disappointed that they opted to show even the little that they were allowed. It was horrible! I think there should have been more consideration taken before playing that video footage.
There are other things happening with our family right now and I will focus on more than just the war at this point. Tomorrow is my 26th birthday. (Yay for me!) I do feel a little on the old side, but I am still very young at heart. LOL My boys are just being darlings about it. I guess they are expecting that there will be a HUGE party with lots of gifts, etc. The fact of the matter is, we have NO money. LOL So there will be no gifts, and the most I could afford was a discounted, single-person white cake for $3.00 at Wal-Mart. (LOL!) Ben just keeps saying how he can’t wait until tomorrow, etc. So, I asked him what he was going to do. He said that he wants to make me breakfast in bed, and what would I like, please? I whispered that there were Eggo Waffles in the freezer that he could pop in the toaster for me. He just thought that was the greatest thing. I am sure I will be surprised with a mess in the morning, but it will be worth it. (Has anyone ever seen the commercial where the two kids make their parents pancakes for breakfast and they bring it upstairs, and then the mom whispers to the dad that they don’t have pancake mix??? This is what I envision! LOL)
We are still dealing with a lot of issues with Chris right now. You can read more about that in my CT diary. (I have two entries of importance: 03/26/03 and 03/29/03.)
We have been on Spring Break all week and the boys are just BORED TO DEATH!!! I’m glad that school is starting this coming week. They really need to have structured days again.
Well, I guess that’s all for now. Have a great week and keep praying for our troops!! They need it. Until next time,
Heather
