Heather's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

March 11, 2003

A side note: One of our surgeons, who is in the reserves, has been called up and is "shipping out" tomorrow. Very scary. I am sad to see him go and I PRAY to God that he returns to his wife and children. Ok, we are moving on now. As much fun as that debate was, I think it’s time for a new entry. LOL

Confession

I have to confess I HATE to cook. Anyone else out there with this problem? Maybe, if I was at home more, and had the money to keep supplies on hand it would be different, but I just don’t. I hate to cook something that only one person will like, and I hate to do something worthless like cooking a meal that everyone is going to complain about. To me, that is definitely worthless. What I do LIKE to do is try new things in the kitchen, once in a while. I guess I just don’t understand why I hate it so much when my mother, a PRO at cooking, has taught me from such an early age. I grew up with my mother constantly in the kitchen whipping up something wonderful. Seriously, she can cook for an army at a moment’s notice with NOTHING in the house. Why did I not inherit this gift???? Anyway, cooking is just not one of my strong points and I have never figured out why to this day. I just do what I can which mostly consists of instant, frozen, and canned foods and is completely horrifying to my mother and sister. It’s not that I CAN’T cook, because frankly I am pretty darn good at cooking. It’s just that I don’t have the time or the energy. I’d rather just be able to throw a bunch of stuff in the oven altogether and have it be ready in an hour. I can get SO much done during that time, you know?

I don’t really know what I am trying to say, and really, I don’t think I had any purpose in writing this entry except to change the subject and also just to ramble. So there you have it!

Have a great week! Until next time,

Heather
