Corinn's Diary Entries

November 12, 2003

WoW! Time for a much needed update. There has been so much lately that I don't know where to start.
First, my mother came to visit for two weeks.
That was interesting, we don't have the best relationship for a lot of reasons, but it went pretty well. There were a few times I wanted her to leave but all in all it went well and she got to see Hayden for the first time and visit with Avery as well.
During her visit I got a phone call for an interview at Family Practice as a medical clerk booking appointments and checking patients in for their appointments.
The interview went great and I had a good feeling that I would get the job, a few days after I was notified that I was selected for the position. I start on Monday the 17th, just in time for the holidays. It will be great to be back at work but I will miss Hayden a lot. I am not too worried about Avery since he loves daycare..
I know that I am a good mother and I will spend quality time with my kiddos and be much more relaxed and focused.
Staying home is not for the faint of heart is it is an awesome privalege as well. I am thankful to have had the time with the kids for this long.
Hubby also found out that he is now being deployed for 12months and he is now going to IRAQ instead of Afghistan. I can't even begin to tell you how tough this is for us.
I know that I will NOT watch CNN while he is gone and I will make it point to stay BUSY so the time passes by quickly.
I do plan to travel a lot and have many visitors here as well. Working will keep me busy as well.
Please pray for the troops that are there, so many of them are fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, friends etc and we miss them and hope they get home safely!
At this time we plan to spend as much time together and get our prorities straight. For us our family comes first and at any given time we could lose what we are so lucky to have. My husband made a comment that really made me think, he said that when he is in a combat situation he wakes up and thinks that safety is key, I could die today.. He is right, and as morbid as that sounds it is a truth we have to live with as we have made the choice to live this lifestyle.
Now, onto some more positives..
My very good friend and my childrens surrogate aunt came to visit this last weekend for her birthday and much needed R&R.
She was kind enough to cover up my hideous roots and chop off those horrid split ends.
I am now a vibrant red head with bangs and a sassy haircut(think Sarah Jessica Parkers do in Sex & the city). What a difference in how I feel and look. Maura and I went and got manicures and pedicures this weekend and we had a great time! I cannot wait to shed the last of the baby weight and get back to being "me". It is going to be quite the challenge to hit the gym once hubby leaves so if anyone has any ideas on how to stay in shape while having the kiddos around I am all ears. I am planning to update the kids webpage at http://www.babiesonline.com/babies/h/haydenw/
Please stop by and take a look.
Thats all for now..
Take care,Corinn
