And the story continues....

After lots of laughes and a few drinks, most of the girls retired to bed. Too tired to keep up with us party girls. Haa! So about 3 of us went to the top deck to get some fresh air and chat a little while longer. Around 1 or so we finally decided to go to bed. Of course while sitting on the deck there was food too tempting to pass up. Pizza! And soft serve ice cream. Oh the yummy ice cream! Ya just go to the machine and get it yourself. Almost a drawback for the ice cream lovers! But hey it was only a 4 night cruise, and we walked and sweated it all off the next day ;-)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I woke up around 6:30 am. Yes, up and ready early. My bad habit was calling: I had to have a smoke and some coffee. I am not a good morning person without coffee. So I took my shower, dressed, and up to the top deck. I was amazed at the beauty of the sea so early in the morning. A small part wished I could wake up to that alot more. The peace and quiet of the sea, then I looked and there it was NASSAU, BAHAMAS!!!!! Oh my gosh, we were finally at our first port! Watch out Bahamas here I am!
I met up with a few other girls and we left the ship and met the rest of the group on the dock. We talked over the plans for the day and then as a group headed to the small tender that was taking us to Paradise Island. Just were I wanted to go. Cause of course this is where the famous Atlantis is. It is a MUST see when at Paradise Island! On the ride to Paradise Island we had a tour guide telling us a little about the area. Pointed out the well to do peoples homes, the Club Med, a shack that was used in a James Bond film. Then we saw it: Atlantis at a far, and closer and closer we got to it. The excitement was building in us all. Just picture about 17 future travel agents snapping their cameras like crazy. You would think we were a bunch of tourists. Ha! We finally hit land and got off the boat. Little huts with drinks and sellers around, not near what Nassau was though. A lady singing about her great drinks she had to sale. Made us laugh, and caused a few to buy them on the way back that afternoon. So on to Atlantis. Oh I can't even explain the beauty of this place. The tour guide said the owner of this resort dreams stuff up and then it gets built. Huh, nice life there. I must say it was awesome. I took pictures of course! Water fountians all around, murals on the walls, columns from floor to cieling, and detailed. Fixtures that would blow your mind, and I noticed that the people staying there were free to smoke inside the hotel. The casino itself was one of beauty. If you can imagine that of a casino. We tossed some money into a slot machine just to get a token from there. Then we went on the tour and was shown a room, a basic room. Or so they call it a basic one, I would call it a grand room, and ocean view. The whole place was on a grand scale. The we toured what they call, "The Dig". Which is awesome in itself. A huge aquarium you walk through, artifacts of Atlantis. Probably not real ones but hey it was awesome. And an area where I got to pet a Conk and a Starfish. Freaky! This place is huge, and they are going to build more to it. The pools were the best I have ever seen. If you seen pictures of it, then imagine being up close and taking pictures. It was 100 times better. The kids pool was even awesome! There was a area you could float on an inner tube through this inclosed glass area. The glass had to be at least a good foot and half to 2 feet thick. And thank God, cause as you float there are sharks on the other side. Yeah just like you are swimming with the sharks! We went to the gift shop and I got 2 shot glasses and a coffee cup, then a beautiful post card. Later we visited 2 other hotels, nothing like Atlantis. Then crossed back to Nassau. Nassau is connected to Paradise Island by a 600 foot bridge. Just a little info there. We went shopping at the duty free markets. Some braved the straw market. I got the kids some shirts, and myself some key chains and a bottle of Rum. All tax free! The one thing I didn't like is the ladies harassing you to braid your hair. UGH! That evening we boarded the ship and was so tired. We had sweat all day and was walking. So our feet were killing us. But this night was formal night! Ahhh! Did I mention that this was my birthday! What a birthday! One I will always remember! We all got ready and met at one of the show rooms for free drinks for an hour. Champagne and Bahama Mamas, as much as you could take. YEAH! The teachers were even having a little. We were all dressed in our formals, sipping drinks. Well, ok, some were chugging the drinks, but all in all....Then off to the dining room to eat. You would not believe the array of people and dress attire. It went from casual dress to full force formal dresses and tuxedos. WOW! This night was music night. Musicians walked around to each table and you could request a song to be played. Ahhh, just perfect! We were seated like the night before, napkins placed in our laps and time to order. Holly and myself split the cost of a bottle of wine. I ordered duck. Yes, duck! I wanted to experience new foods too. Oh and the deserts are to die for! I had a chocolate cake. YUM! With softserve ice cream of course. As we sat there and chatted, here came the musicians. I noticed the girls all had a wierd look on their faces. Great they were up to something! Yeah, the musicians were told to sing to me. Note: I am not an emotional person. It would take alot to make me cry. Well not this night! I started crying like a baby! Oh and there are pictures to proof it. The girls started hugging me and telling me not to cry. Haa! I couldn't believe I cried! So emotional since my birthday. What is up with that?!! Then here come a piece of birthday cake. Yeah that is 2 slices of chocolate cake. UGH! Ya can only take so much of chocolate. Then we were off to see a show. Still dressed in our formals we went to see a show called "Wild, wild, West" It was funny, and a waiter gave me a free drink cause it was my birthday. Free is good, and those Bahama Mama's were great! Afterwards some of us walked around laughing at my crying spell. All in all my birthday was great. Just too bad Don wasn't with me.
I also bought a conk shell for my mother in law at Paradise Island, it was so pretty and shiney. She loved it!
That was day 2! Stay tuned for day 3 at Cococay! Royal Caribbean's private island. A day at the beach!
