August 22, 2003

17 more days till my cruise! AHHH!!! I am excited, stressed, etc. You name the emotion and I am going through it. I still have load of stuff to buy, documents to get gathered up, etc. I did accomplish reserving a hotel room for me and 2 other classmates. Should be fun. We will stay the night close to the airport the night before. GIRLS NIGHT! Haha! I do have one argument about the trip! The school has a dress code, and they are being vauge about it! It is hard to figure out what the heck they want out of us. Alot of the students are getting very mad about this too.

What has Austin been up to? Oh lots! He is a busy, energetic child! More so sometimes than I can take. But he is 6 1/2 so I guess it comes with the territory. About a week ago the boys were in their room and all of a sudden we here this blooding curdling scream. Don and I both run to the room, Austin had chomped his teeth into Noah's arm. Oh I can not explain my anger at that very moment! Why he did it I don't know, but punishment took place! The trails of having kids. The kids have been going to a new sitter and they love her. She is a young mom and loves kids so much she watches about 4 of them. Brave woman! We found Austin over at her house after we came home. He loves being there so much I guess he decided to go over and play on the PS2 with her husband and other neighbor kids. But Austin is not going there anymore since he starts school Monday. Oh glorious Monday! Yes, I am excited for him to start school again. He is been getting restless for about the past 2 weeks, so it is time for school to start again. Speaking of, last year he was having problems with reading. Well, yesterday a lady said she went to pick her son up at the same sitter that my kids go to, and low and behold there is Austin reading, on his own! We quizzed him, and by gosh he can read! We hugged him so tight, he grinned with a look of "hehe, I could do it all along". We asked him how long he could do this. His reply "since kindergarten!" Little stinker. Today we go to his school to meet the teacher and check the new school out. We have all the school supplies, clothes, etc bought and he can't wait to go.

What has Noah been doing? Well, getting into EVERYTHING! You name it the kid is into it. A while back he knocked one of my living room lamps on the floor and it shattered into millions of pieces. So I found another one just like it. Note: we bought these lamps on clearence for 9 a piece. Well found another and got it for 10. Last night Noah reaches up pushes the shade on it and *BOOM* down it goes. This time it didn't break as bad. I am going to glue it with ceramic glue. But most likely be buying new lamps later. Next time will be iron ones. That won't break. This kid will get into it all, cough syrup on the kitchen floor, can goods everywhere, pots and pans, clothes, toothpaste, get my contact case and hides it. Oh it is never dull around here. He says so much more now too. He is loving to say "NO" now. It is no to almost everything. And the other day the phrase was "aut dada doing?!!" translations: What's dada doing? And he can't stand to be inside, has to be outdoors almost all day. He sees a bike and say "I aut bike!" I want bike. And the list goes on and on. He has been REALLY cranky lately, teething I think. The drool is coming in buckets. Looks like we just pour water on his shirts. Haha! He is so attached to Don that I teased Don that we need to super glue Noah to Don's hip till about the age of 3 or 4. Speaking of daddy's boy, I don't know what this little guy is going to do when Don goes to Texas for a few days! He flips out when Don goes to work. OH Lord help me when Don leaves. I will need all the strength I can get! The sooner Don gets back the better. But it is all for a good cause.
