Christa's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |
August 7, 2003
Life can be slow one moment and then busy as can be then next. So now that I have a spare minute or two I think I should update this diary.
Lots of personal things have been going on. But that is my own to take care of. On to the boys! Well Austin is getting more and more excited about school starting back up. The big 1st grader, he will be. He is getting so big! It is hard to think of a little 3-year-old running around repeating the Clorox commercial on TV. You know the one about mom using Clorox. Haa! Not that I use Clorox. I am a 409 cleaner type woman. Or my orange clean. Smells so good! We almost have the school clothes shopping done. Just gotta get the backpack and shoes. I think he will be set to go till the end of September when we will get the winter clothes. I have been watching his sugar intake lately. I noticed when coming home from Grandmas, and after having sugar type foods. You know that lovely stuff grandparents love to give the kids RIGHT before they come home! UGH! Well he has been bouncing off the walls from all that crappy food. So the sugar foods are limited. And I mean limited! On the school clothes thing, Austin is in between sizes this year. UGH! Last year he was in a size 7. This year is 7’s are too small and 8’s are too big. Time to pull out Austin’s belt to hold up those size 8’s. Haa! Oh he will grow into them sometime during the year. Just not right now. Next week we will be doing new student registration. That’s always fun :-/
Noah has been talking more and more! He amazes me. He will hear it one time and, if HE wants to, will repeat it. Only if he is in the mood to do so. Other wise, forget it! Ya can’t force him to do anything. Strong willed child! He also gets all excited about seeing any kind of musical instrument and shoes. Oh my gosh! Shoes is this kids thing! He saw a shoe commercial and started yelling “SHOOOOES!!!!!!” It’s a shoe thing ;-)
Last weekend I took the boys to my hometown to have professional pictures done. This place specializes in old fashion looking pictures. Oh, it was pouring down rain, took me 50 minutes to get there. Usually at 30 minute drive. If that. Then did the boys pictures. My sister, her girls and my mom was there. Then all of a sudden I find myself having a family portrait done. Myself, the boys, my sister, nieces and my mom. What the heck happened there!!!! I don’t like having my picture taken with all this excess weight on! But we did it. Then the grandkids ended up getting a picture together. Boy that photographer loved us! Of course who was the one child that decided that things needed to be done his way? NOAH! Oh yes, he wanted to sit a certain way, or not sit at all, hold a certain prop or just throw it down. He wanted the fishing pole, or not, wanted a hat or wanted to pull it over his face. SHEESH! I never remember having these problems with Austin. Austin would work with ya, and grin from ear to ear. Noah smiles after the fact. Ahhh! But the end product, the final pictures, will be cute.
That’s about it.
