March 1, 2004
March is finally here. Yeah!!! To me that means just that much closer to spring and warmer temps. The weather hasn't been to bad, but boy that wind will do horrid things to your hair!
Austin is still doing the same, as far as school goes. I am still doing my research on ADD, what I can do to help him, and taking it one day at a time. He goes to see his doctor next Tuesday. I was told there is a 2-6 month waiting period to see a ped. neurologist. WOW! But if there is a long wait, we WILL wait. I am not giving up on this. Austin came home from school one day last week with a form for me to fill out for soccer through the local "Y". Humm..This could help with motor skills and a whole lot more. Great idea! Or so I think. We are signing him up. I am dropping the form off tomorrow. He is so excited. He wants to play so bad. So on Saturdays the family will be enjoying soccer games. How exciting!!!! I can't wait! Neither can Austin. I have a friend that told me of the soccer coach to ask for. Heard she was awesome with the kids, always cheering them on, encouraging them, etc.
Today I got a call from the school nurse. Ok, first: when you get a messege to call your childs school, you think "oh lord his is sick, did he get hurt? what is wrong?" So calling in panic, just to be relieved. The nurse was just wondering about Austin and if I called his doctor to talk about his ADD and such. She is a sweet woman and is just concerned about Austin. I am hoping the doctor visit goes smoothly and we figure out what to do. The school nurse and I put our heads together and I am going to sign a release form so the teacher can legally release class information on Austin to me, just so I can take this with me to the doctors appointment to show her, kind of an example of what is going on. It will help me in explaining the situation.
Other than that Austin is doing pretty good. He is upset that the new dog won't really have anything to do with him. That upsets me too.
Noah is loud and proud to be...well Noah! Haha! Everywhere we go you can hear him a mile away. And a very social little boy. VERY friendly. If you walked passed us in a store he would mostly likely say something like he did today to every person in the department store: "HI!!! What ya doing? What's dat?! Wook mama...purse! What's in purse? Wook! Wook! HI!!! What ya got?" Ok, I giggle at him for the first oh 20 minutes and all the ladies get a kick out of him. He asked on lady what was in HER purse. She laughed and said not much honey. Hehe! He seen a shirt with spiderman on it and thought that was the coolest thing! But he ended up with a new outfit, but not spiderman. Hey I gotta pick the clothes while I still can. Austin now wants to decide on the clothes himself.
Jobs? What job?
Oh this is a major thing right now. The airline job was not going to work. I talked with the HR guy and I didn't feel right about the job. Something didn't set right with me. So I guess it is a search, and search some more. IDEA!!!!! I am going to take some photography classes through the local college. An off campus class. But I want to take them. Photography is my hobby and I would love to take these classes. They don't last very long, so it won't be like I am going for months on end. My best friend said she wanted to take them with me. YEAH, I don't have to go at it alone.
Speaking of my dear friend, "A" lost her mom the day after Valentines Day. She has been through alot. Now is taking care of her dad. Her and her DH and me and Don all decided to go out to the movies Friday night. Kind of a get away from the house for all of us. We wanted to go see The Passion of the Christ. Yep, so A and I went and bought tickets hours in advance. Just so we would get a seat. I should have known the night was going to go bad when I got in the van to start it and it did nothing. NOTHING! The battery. Rrrr! But got it running, got to the theater about 30 minutes early, the line was all the way around the corner of the building. We were sure it was for those wanting to buy tickets. NOPE! Don went in and asked if they may have over sold the movie. Oh no, not at all. Notice my sarcasim! They over sold it and we got comp tickets to go back the next day. People were sitting in the aisles to see the movie. It WAS a GREAT movie. I probably had make up running down my face afterwards. Very emotional movie, and very graphic. FHEW! "A" and I are going out tonight for about an hour. Partly to go tan, then to just visit and giggle some.
Samone`the bassett
Yeah she loves me! And ONLY me. She won't have anything to do with the kids. And Don? Forget it. She would rather crawl in a whole. What is up with this?! This was supposed to be a dog for the kids, not me. UGH! We finally got to housebroke. But now she doesn't want to come in the house for the most part. I gotta figure a way to get her to warm up to the rest of the family. Austin tries, boy he tries. He walks her, combs her, pets her when she lets him get close enough. But still she runs away from him. She even got out Saturday night, but I got her, she can't go to far, to fast on bassett legs. hehe. She is sweet though. She follows me around like a shadow. Don is not liking the idea of her not wanting anything to do with the boys though. It is upsetting, I agree with him on that.
Family
We are waiting for "the call". Don's grandma is dieing. She has been in and out of the hospitals for the last year. Leaking valve, that the doctors won't fix, because of her age and health problems. They are afraid she won't make it out of surgery. She came home over a week ago, with Hospice care. Her body is pretty much shutting down. We spent most of the first weekend she came home at her house. Visiting with her and the rest of the family. She is a sweet woman that is very loved by her family and friends.
Well on a lighter note, Noah is binky free! Yep ya read it right! He has been with out a binky for almost a week. Not to hard of a transition. He didn't have too much of a problem with it. If the binky had a hole in it he DIDN"T want it. He would throw it out, "yuck, don't want it, were good binky mama?" Yep, that was the hint. I wasn't buying any more binkies. Now to work more on the potty training thing.
