Christa's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

February 7, 2004

Winter go away! I am ready for spring to get here for so many reasons. Mainly because we get cooped up in the house and everyone starts getting cabin fever. The boys start picking on one another, which in turns drives me batty. Tonight we are taking Austin to IPP (incredible pizza place) to reward him for doing so good on his spelling test. He is really excited. He is also going to a birthday party today. I had another mom call me yesterday evening and told me how Austin and her daughter,M, was in the same class last year. M is having a party today and she told her mom how Austin is back at this school and that she was very upset that Austin had not been invited to her birthday party. So being the good mom she called me and brought an invite over. Austin is siked! The party is at a placed called Barn Swings. It is pretty much what the named implies. It is a barn that someone has put rope swings in and padded the floor with mattresses all over for a nice comfy landing. Austin went there last year with Don and he loved it. So when I told him he was going today he started jumping with excitment. I must remember to take the camera!

Car shopping. In my opinion this is the dreaded/happy time. Dreaded because those salespeople try to get you into something you DON'T want, won't listen to your wants and needs. But then again it is a happy time when you do find the car, van, truck, SUV you want. In our case we are looking for a van. I know what I want, I know about what year I want, what price I am willing to spend. But the car lots want to get you that over priced automobile that doesn't fit your needs. My needs are MORE ROOM! I don't want a huge monthly payment, and an SUV doesn't work for the room. We tried them out and with long legged boys we need a van. A VAN! Geesh can a sales person not understand that. Can ya tell Don and I had a bad experience last night? UGH! I found a van on this dealers website, then all of a sudden they say "oh that was sold today, but here is this nice expensive one!" UGH! We pointed to what we liked, with no excitement in our voice. Can't let them see the excitment ;-)
But they just didn't listen. So today we start again. I just want the van in the price range I have found, nothing more, nothing less. Ok, enough on the van thing. We will find the one for us and it will be great!

I have 4 days left till I am finished with school. 4 days! I don't have graduation till this summer, but just the thought of no more school is, to me an awesome accomplishment in itself.

Time to redo the boys room. They have pretty much worn their comforters out, Austin wants something different. Don agrees. UGH! Time to look into a new comfort and all that jazz. Since the boys have their own room, I think we will let Austin pick his theme out. But nothing tacky or anything that in 2 months he will say, "I don't like the comforter, I want this instead." Noah on the other hand, I will pick his stuff out. But just not sure on what color scheme to go with in either boys room. Any ideas?

That is about it for now. I would like to request many prayers, my dear friend is going through some hard times right now. Her father just had open heart surgery, just go to come home. Her mom has cancer and has been in another hospital and just got to come home, but the dr. suggested that the family call in a pastor for her mom, and hospice has been called in. Not looking too good. "A" has been through so much and now is dealing with this, please pray for her and her family.
