Christa's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |
January 1, 2001
It's my time. I have been thinking about leaving for a few months now. This week really made the decision. With everything going on with Austin, Noah, myself and Don I need to close this diary out.
Austin is doing fine, we still have one more test to do. The EEG, then we go from there. He will be starting soccer soon, he has a musical at school this coming week and spring break is right around the corner.
Noah is still loud, proud and bossy. Haha! The loudness is concerning, so I mentioned this and other things to the ENT today and he is going for a hearing test at the end of the month.
I am going to try to get this airport job next week. I need to work on my weight lose. Don and I are both going to start walking and/or biking around the neighborhood. I really need to focus on the family and health things right now.
Today I recieved an email from a old friend, someone who I lost contact with because of differences in the past. No hatred there, just went our own ways. Come to find out we both were pondering emailing or calling each other. She emailed me, then we talked on the phone. Old friendships anew again. She sent me this one email and it really stuck with me. I will leave with this:
Sand and Stone
A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey, they had an argument,
and one friend slapped the other one in the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, he wrote
in the sand:
Today my best friend slapped me in the face.
They kept on walking, until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got
stuck in the mire and started drowning, but his friend saved him. After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a
stone:
Today my best friend saved my life.
The friend, who had slapped and saved his best friend, asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand, and now, you
write on a stone, why?"
The other friend replied: "When someone hurts us, we should write it down in sand, where the winds of forgiveness can
erase it away, but when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase
it.
Learn to write your hurts in the sand and to carve your blessings in stone.
Unknown
I will miss those I have met through IP. I will still come around from time to time and see how you all are.
Thanks for reading about our little family over the years.
Christa
