As much as I dislike doing this,I am going to have to take a break from my lifestory once again and the telling of Carries birth on the Farm, because she is on the verge of giving birth to her 1st baby. I keep telling her how thrilled I am that at last, she will have some idea of the depth of my love for her.As far as I know, she is not having anything happening right now, like her water breaking or regular contractions and it could be today or it could be 3 weeks from now,but I have a lot to do to be prepared and lots of other stuff going on here at home.Carrie had her last appt. on Monday and the baby was engaged. She was also measuring 4 weeks bigger than her appt. the week before - what? What is that about? Caregiver error the week before? Position of the baby? All of the prayers we have prayed that the baby would catch up? She had been measuring a couple of weeks behind all along and then last week measured 4 weeks behind - 32 at 36 weeks. The midwife thought that the baby felt smallish but not abnormally small,so that was reassuring.it was even more of a reassurance, however, when she went this week and was measuring at 36 weeks. She had her 3rd shower yesterday at the school where she teaches and then today is her last day of teaching! The 1st thing she has planned is a pedicure! Next week,we will go down for Thanksgiving and the day after Thanksgiving, she will have her 4th and final, shower! My 16 yr old,Caitlin & I,along with 4.5 yr old Susannah will get to be there. As well,as Rustys sister who will be home from Atlanta for the holiday weekend. So wouldnt that be the perfect time to have a baby?? Hmmm, maybe not. Thinking ahead - Rusty & Carrie were in Michaels the other day and found some Christmas stockings they liked.Rusty insisted they buy 6 of them - one for each of them and 4 for the 4 children they will be having eventually! He then added that in case they had 6 children, they could use their stockings.I have loved having a largish family,so I would be delighted for them if they did have that many children.I know women with 9 & 10 children so I wont say large and you know what? It doesnt FEEL like a large family to me.When we are all together,it feels just right. That is another exciting thing about Thanksgiving - all 5 of my kids will be there. My 18 yr old son Will, who is on his own and in college now, told me last week how he couldnt WAIT until we were all together down there for Thanksgiving. How wonderful is that?? I am a blessed woman.....With all that I have to do,Im not planning on a new entry until after the baby comes & after the holidays but you never know.So until next time, may God richly bless us all and I pray you will have some special moments during this holiday season and your hearts will know Gods love..... Catherine
