Catherine's Diary Entries

October 1, 2003

Well, the week before last Susannah presented with one of the top 5 most dreaded by moms everywhere(at least this mom)conditions - Headlice! Ewwwww! When I was a child,my brother & I never had this(they didnt dare come to our house!) and my mother always gave me the impression that only dirty people got headlice.Well,Susannah doesnt go to daycare and she certainly isnt dirty.... The odd thing is that none of the rest of us got them,in spite of our musical chairs sleeping arrangements. So,of course I had to wrack my brain - What did Susannah do differently than the rest of us??? Hmmmm, there was that one Saturday morning that I hauled my strollers over to the consignment shop and being Saturday morning, there were hordes of moms lined up with items to be consigned. So Susannah played happily for a long time in the play area provided with several other kids and a sofa and an area rug, both of which I remember her laying down on.I was able to get rid of the uninvited, terribly nasty critters w/o using the toxic chemicals. If you ever need to know how - email me! A week after I had seen the last of them,I had a friend from California stop by while she was in town to introduce her Dr. Guy that she is going out with. When she introduced Susannah to Mr. Dr.Guy,Suebear very solemnly announced to him:I have headlice... Talk about embarrassing!KIDS!!!!Well, now that Ive lost the rest of my reading audience......Life here has been pretty much the same - the weekend relatives are still pouring in.Not unusual during college football season but heavy this year.Im ready to have a free weekend,I think! Carrie is now 30 weeks pregnantr with Amelia and has been having some disturbing contractions that started out as lots of BH,then BH with a low backache, then BH with a low backache & hip & thigh pain. She was checked yesterday by the midwife and no cervical changes seem to be happening. She may have to stop work this month instead of Thanksgiving weekend......May God bless you till next time,Catherine
