Carmajo's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

November 14, 2003

I look back on my diary entries from Preconception.com, Pregnancy.com, Breastfeed.com and now Momstoday.com and realized something. I seldom write about how amazing it is to Adrianna's Mommy. I always seem to have an "issue" or "problem" that I am seeking advice from the more seasoned Mom's. This entry is going to be different. If you haven't read my preconception diary then you wouldn't know the odds we defied by having Adrianna. Just one month before we conceived our dd I was told by our RE that we had a very slim chance of ever conceiving on our own. 15% to be exact! We were faced with IVF in our future. I had given up on my fertility monitor, charting and clomid. We quit trying and were focused on saving the down payment for IVF. A miracle is the only way to describe it. We conceived Adrianna out of love. Holding my daughter in my arms makes me feel like the luckiest woman in the world.

10 Simple Ways to Make me SMILE!

1. Nursing Adrianna for the first 12 months of her life.

2. The sound Adrianna makes when she is giving a kiss. (mmmmmmaa!)

3. How Adrianna will press her cheek against you lips when she knows she is in trouble.

4. Helping Adrianna do everything Mommy or Daddy is doing. (ie brushing teeth, brushing hair or talking on the phone)

5. Hearing my name Mama a hundred times a day.

6. Tea parties are the best with Adrianna. I don't even mind when she spits in our "pretend" cup of tea. Of course I have to "pretend" to drink it.

7. Listening in on Daddy-Daughter time.

8. Watching Adrianna dump a laundry basket full of balls on her head. Even though I know I will have to clean them up it is still funny.

9. Singing and dancing to the Wiggles with my daughter.

10. Helping my lil' girl walk around in my high heel shoes.

My Grandmother on my father's side of the family passed away when I was 17 years old. She was the most amazing woman. She was a very loving mother and wife. We would visit her every Sunday for a family supper. She truly is the most amazing person I have ever known. Shortly before she passed away we were talking about what we wanted to do when we grow up. I was still undecided then but my Grandma told me something I will never forget. She told me I would be a great Mother. I still hear those words regulary and remember that day like it was just yesterday. I think about my Grandma French alot. I hope she is looking down on us today and I am making her proud.

I will close this entry with sharing my most defining Mother moment yet.

I know I wias a Mother when I quit what I
thought was the most amazing job in the world only to find out being a Mother is by
far the best. I am now a full time Mommy with a part time job outside the home.
I could not ask for anything more.

Please feel free to share one of your special moments with use that you and your child have shared. Whether it be something magnificent bonding moment, a quirky story or a simple game you play - every moment and feeling you have with your child is special. Cherish your children, they are all miracles.

Love,

Adrianna's Mommy
