Carmajo's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

May 10, 2004

Today we sealed the deal and closed on the sale of our home. To be honest, it all happened so fast my head is still spinning. Our house was on the market for 10 days with 7 showings and a full price offer on the 10th day. I take this as a sign that the big move we are making is meant to be. We have planned and saved for almost a year then sold our home so quickly. I really did not think it would go this smoothly. I guess in the back of my mind I kind of hoped it would take a few months so I could have some more time with my family. It is all so real now. Every time I talk to my Mom I choke back tears.
I really did not think it would be this hard. Ok, I need to change the subject to prevent a flood of tears on my nicely cleaned computer desk.
We have 21 days to get packed and have our belongings picked up by a moving company.
I still haven't not settled on a company.
I had one picked out but after reading on the Better Business Bureau website that they have had 5 complaints within the last 12 months that they refuse to respond to it made me leary. To make a long story short I decided to get a few more estimates and spend a little more money and use a more widely known company to ensure our belongings arrive safely in CA from OH.
We are aiming on leaving for our drive on the evening of June 4th and hoping to arrive on June 7th. I will no longer have internet access until we are moved into an apartment within a week of the 7th. I am going to try and sneak online at my in-laws if I have time.

Adrianna is going to be able to have her speech evaluation on May 27th before we move to California. I am anxious for the appointment. I have been working with her each day trying to teach her new words, letters and sounds. I hope I am being over obsessive and the therapist tells us her speech is normal but I would like to hear it from a professional. Here are a few new words rolling out of Adrianna's mouth:
JuJu for Aunt Julie
KiKi for cousin Kristen
Awnna for Anna which is Adrianna's nickname
Don't and Stop which are self explanatory

I will update as soon as I have internet access. BTW, Happy belated Mother's Day to everyone.

Hugs,
Carmajo
